We recently connected with Alli Caudle and have shared our conversation below.
Alli, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Releasing attachment and perfection, never giving up, and allowing every failure to be an opportunity for improvement. Also, coming from a place of “being of service.”
Alli, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Global Real Estate Advisor at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty in Dallas, Texas. I’m originally from TX, spent 11 years in New York City and Los Angeles, and moved back home during the pandemic in 2020.
I was an event producer at Sunset Tower Hotel in LA, and right as we had wrapped our award season, I was furloughed from the pandemic. My mother, and now partner, offered me the position to join her, and I jumped on board asap!
I’m also a certified Life Coach / Guide, published author of Cinnamon Goes Over the Edge – a children’s book, and I host and produce a real estate podcast – Welcome Home – that focuses on real estate from the perspective of the human experience.
What sets Caudle Real Estate Group apart, is our dedication to our clients. Since we’re family, we make our clients feel at comfortable and at home in our company.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes! I’ve had quite a few of these! I initially moved to NYC to work in fashion PR for Dior. Then quit PR to go to acting school, became a professional actress and screenwriter. That took me to LA and I worked in Hollywood for a few years, then I let that career go to get certified in life coaching and guidance, while working in high-level hospitality. That led to become an event producer at one of the most iconic hotels in LA. When I lost my job due to the pandemic, I became a realtor. And here we are!!
So, my advice for navigating pivots in our life: know who you are, at your core, without being defined by a job / title / relationship. It will make things so much easier, AND MORE JOYFUL, if you just go with the flow of your hearts calling as well as the flow of life that is presented to us by a higher power.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
When I started real estate, I experienced major imposter syndrome. It was so much more challenging and complex than I ever could have imagined. FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT. One day at a time: learn something, do something, talk to someone, even if it seems insignificant. It’s been three years now, and I love what I do! It takes time to build something. Be patient and take some kind of action day-by-day.
My mother / partner is why I was able to make this extraordinary career pivot. She has worked hard in many markets, but primarily Dallas. She’s built a reputation as a kind, dedicated, fierce, smart woman, who’s passionate about her clients, and being of service at the highest level possible. I learn from her every single day and am so grateful for all the work she’s put it, and the people she’s helped, to be able to step into this level of work. So, find a great partner, and make sure they’re someone that makes you better, compliments your challenges, and celebrates your strengths.
Ultimately, GRATITUDE, a strong mindset, taking care of yourself physically, having fun, and showing up every day in some way to learn and be better, will lead to success.
