Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alleah Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alleah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Taking a risk is how I’ve gotten to the point I am today, a seasoned digital content creator with a collective following of 10k supporters across various social media platforms and working with top beauty and wellness brands in the US/worldwide!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been on social media for what seems like forever but let’s start with the last 10+ years. As social media grew and my continuous usage of it as well, I came across the behind the scenes of what specific people known as “Content Creators” really do- and that’s post about their lives! I’ve been doing this for years and it dawned on me that instead of just posting for fun, let me post for fun with a purpose! That’s when I decided to become a full time digital content creator which was just about 4 years ago. From reviewing products and services by way of tutorials, highlights, reviews and cinematic vlogging, short and long form content creation has been my life outside of my other ventures!
Being a digital creator has allowed me to not only keep up on the latest and greatest products and services but has also introduced me to places, people and things I’ve never been exposed to. Taking a completely different perspective on what is possible and attainable, I have been able to work with in just this year 2023, over 33 brands/major companies that are represented both in the US and world wide! Another big contributor to my journey was joining creator partner programs with companies like Amazon and Target! The focus of my content is geared towards women and men who want to enhance their life through the things they use, the places they go, and the things they’re able to do! By sharing my genuine and authentic reaction to such experiences, it has allowed me to gain a trusting support system across platforms and become introduced to my version of the “Soft Life”.
I am most proud of myself for not just using social media to scroll but finding a voice to project and a face to show the world as who I am and what has helped shape this current version of my life. I am so grateful for each of the opportunities I have gotten and (still getting)!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Starting out as a content creator and trying to find what to post or what to talk about is the most challenging part of a creators journey. However, every creator must start from somewhere. My starting point was working with small businesses of family and friends by promoting their products and/or services. It was different now posting with a purpose- finding the best lighting and the vibe that shows my personality while also showing people my genuine reaction to using said products/services.
About 95% of the content that I shared across my social platforms in the beginning were gifted opportunities and very seldom paid partnerships. This didn’t bother me because experience in my eyes is the best teacher when pursuing any new venture, paid or unpaid. As my creativity and ability to show through a cinematic lens video and photo capture grew. This also increased my desire to create content more consistently and expose myself to new possibilities in this space. From campaigns and sponsorships to collaborations and partnerships, I was now officially calling myself a Digital Content creator specializing in areas like beauty, lifestyle, fashion, hair, and travel. But with any new venture comes new challenges. Applying for specific campaigns and getting turned down was something I knew all too well. I didn’t have companies reaching out to work with me or interested in creating long term relationships with me to help promote their brands. It was very discouraging at times.
Now, 3 years later, I’m a part of creator partner programs, having established relationships with founders, public relation agencies and marketing teams. This includes but is not limited to also reaching out consistently to work with me and invite me to various events promoting their brands or asking to be a part of a brand promotion trip! Talk about a rollercoaster of a journey! I am so thankful to have encountered all of the hurdles thus far and excited to see what other plans are in store for me!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is having the ability to be as free, intentional and honest as possible posting content without any limitations holding me back. I would take pictures and post videos on social media just to share my life with others, giving a birds eye view of what my life is like. Now, I’m sharing my life experiences while also being blessed to have brands work with me to either help expose my supporters to things that can help or aid them as well in their daily lives or want to try out what ever I’m showing. It’s bigger than just sharing my life, I want to help others become exposed to things, people and places that otherwise would not have access to or be able to see.
