We recently connected with Allanah Gonzales and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Allanah, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

I guess it all started out when I was in MIddle School. A friend of mine had purchased a tiny little Tarot Deck from Barnes and Nobles. I remember being instantly drawn to them. However i didn’t ask for my own until I was in High School. I’d done a little Basic research on Tarot. (I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the “Rule” saying you’re not supposed to buy your own Tarot deck just an FYI it’s BS) Well i had my Grandmother buy them for me. Which lets be honest at the time was very awkward, because these things are considered taboo. I took that deck home and did every reading i could possibly do on myself, my mom, School friends. etc. And you know what i was actually really good at it. I seriously predicted the exact day of a relationship starting. it didn’t stick with me though. it took years for me to go back to reading Tarot, and then again i stopped because of people’s reactions to what i was doing. It actually wasn’t until about 4 years ago that i decided I wanted to pick up another deck. So.. I went public slowly at first. Starting off in groups i knew my friends weren’t in. Then joining others as a verified reader. Finally starting my own group and then taking the leap and actually doing pop up markets. It’s been the best thing being able to be myself and accepting what i can do. My whole life has changed. It’s pushed me to do so much more than I originally thought.

Allanah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hey im Allanah! I’m the owner of Green Space Readings. I’m an Intuitive Tarot reader, Psychic, Medium, Reiki practitioner, candle maker, and fiber artist. Plus a stay at home Mom of three. which is a job all on its own. I offer : -Card readings
-Mediumship (contact with passed loved ones)
-energy healing
-fixed candles
-crochet plushies.
I also have a whole line of Journals that i’ve designed.
i offer different types of readings from unlimited questions to Spirit Guide Guidance. Fixed Candles can be for pretty much anything and are crafted specific for each situation.

If you happen to Catch me at an event i offer Mini readings. These are general readings hitting on what you need to know at that point in your life. My private readings though are a little different. I like to do them over messages (facebook, instagram, whatsapp). Personally i’ve gotten readings over the phone, and while at the time they may have hit the mark. i also have the worst memory ever so i end up forgetting half of it as soon as it’s over. I like my clients to have a copy of their reading. This way they can go back and read over it whenever they like.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Green Space Readings wasn’t my first passion. i Actually started out my journey as a Chef. i went to culinary school at 17 graduated at 18 and i was working in the kitchen for years. Even cooking for the Spurs for 2 years. I had to walk away from it after i got pregnant with my second child. I loved working in restaurants. I loved busy nights where things are hectic and wild. Cooking was the best experience. So i went back around the time when i started my official deep dive back into Tarot and the occult. I went back to work in as a server but, it just didn’t work out. I was Literally being let go for things that were out of my control. I had a ticket ring up to the kitchen once with 8 burgers on it when i had only put an order in for 2. I’d never seen a POS system do that in all my years of restaurant experience it was like the universe telling me this isn’t for you anymore. i always tell people that things happen for a reason. And honestly I think that i wouldn’t be where i am today if i had stayed with the food industry

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Word of mouth. I love when i hear from someone that they were recommended by a friend. or that they asked for someone who does card readings in a local Fb group and i was mentioned repeatedly. Ill honestly cry every time i hear that. i did a podcast a few months back and was told that people were recommending my services so she reached out. literally teared up on the spot
