Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aliza Li. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aliza, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
For me, creating is something that comes naturally. I’ve always known I’d be somewhere close to music but to say I wanted to be a singer/Songwriter Is something that took me years to admit honestly. You really have to be comfortable with who you are as a person and know how you want to present your craft. Life has a way of giving you exactly what you need, when you need it. I don’t believe there is anything I could have done to speed up the process. Like there’s no exactly time frame on finding yourself, you just have to go through that journey. However long it takes to get to where you need to be. Then once you get there, you’ll find out you never really get there. It’s a continuous process because your constantly changing and your situation is changing. I don’t think I’ve learned my craft per se but I’m definitely evolving.

Aliza, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Aliza Li has already melted the hearts of many with her breathtaking vocal dexterity and raw songwriting ability and now she brings a fresh offering, her new EP ‘Soul X Sushi’. With four tracks, each uniquely potent in their narrative and tone, Aliza showcases the many different forms that her artistry takes. The EP opens up with ‘Carry Me’, a track with a throwback R&B sound and groovy bass that sees Aliza explore her feelings in a relationship whilst ‘Mirror Me’ creates an atmospheric soundscape where Aliza’s stunning vocal range and rhythmic delivery can take center stage. Discussing the new EP, Aliza shares: “Soul x Sushi encompasses all aspects of what true love really is, from euphoria to heartbreak or whatever that means to each individual but whatever that means to you, make sure that sh*t comes from the soul”
From defying all odds, gaining mastery in the art of singing and songwriting to becoming a fast rising sensation in the music industry, the Atlanta, GA based Aliza Li has blended soul and R&B to create a unique style and is well known for her exhilarating performances that grabs attention in moments the audience cannot comprehend, giving them an euphoric feeling that keeps them asking for more. Greatly influenced by the likes of Jill Scott & Erykah Badu, her sonorous voice perfectly blended with flexibility and quick transition of incredible notes leaves you stunned every time she grabs the microphone to perform.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love when I get messages from people that say my music has touched their life in on way or another. Music has really been such a big part of my life. I am more than humbled to be able to provide that for someone else.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think support is a big part! Everyone has to go on there own journey to get the experiences they need to reflect that in their art and its always nice to have some type of support. Everyone could benefit from support in their daliy lives. Just being present means a lot.
