We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Aliyah Morgan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Aliyah , appreciate you joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I’ve always been an artist — I’ve danced for many years. Taking movement and turning them into words have been challenging but it was the best decision I made. The process to create content is new to me so I’m navigate the balance of life and trying to stay organic & engaged.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m fairly new to the content and production industry but I always knew I wanted something to call my own. Socially Soulful is a show built off a misunderstood, ostracized, and shy girl from Richmond, CA. Growing up it was always difficult to get others to understand my feelings or perspective; it challenged me to translate my thoughts in many different ways, most times I held back my feelings for the sake of others. This platform was created to make people feel seen & heard. The conversations aren’t just about business or entrepreneurship but also about the personal lives and hearts of the person.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The creative process takes time and strength. For me, it isn’t always easy to remain in a fluid state of artistry. Life runs its course with its on trials and tests; during the creation of Socially Soulful my brother committed suicide. That sent my father into a deep depression and set my siblings and I ba k emotionally. It showed how divided we were and how much work we all have to do, Soon after that my partner stepped out on our relationship. My heart was in pieces, I didn’t know if I wanted to continue with the show. Everyone around me was cheering me on, so I decided to push through. Although I’m not exactly where I want to be I’m glad I continued.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As a creative you have so many ideas, but sometimes you don’t have the funds. I want to be able to produce avenues and platforms under my brand that will also allow other creatives to write their stories as well. I want this to be global — a label.
