Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alivia Korsun. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alivia, thanks for joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
I have been really fortunate to have people in my life who were willing to give me the opportunity to help them craft their brand’s visual identity and narrative!
Honestly, at my last job I was kind of one foot in, one foot out when I realized I was going to have to fully commit to this work sooner than I had expected. My previous role in marketing was for a product I didn’t feel ethically/morally aligned with and the friction came to a head and kind of catapulted things. But if it hadn’t who knows, it probably would have taken me four times the time it took me to get to where I am now with the agency, and I always know that being independent with my time was a top priority to me.
Turns out I was not alone in that feeling, so when i was talking about what I wanted to do with my agency, a friend of mine reached out to get some support on his home decor business. It was great to see his knowledge and passion for something I knew very little about and vision for the brand. I always feel emotionally invested in my clients stories. To be honest, my first vision was a bit of a flop. It just didn’t resonate with him so we took it back to the drawing board where I presented a really strong new visual identity that they will be using moving forward!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Day // Day is a Creative Agency that offers several unique services. Of course we can help you build a brand identity or marketing strategy, but we also cater to brands that want to extend their branding into the real world. Our main focus right now is to find more ways to help businesses and creators break the 4th wall in the digital space. While we prioritize key performance indicators, we know that metrics can not always account for the human experience.
We have worked with a variety of service providers like astrologers, estheticians and therapists, positioning them as industry leaders through strong personal narratives; we have also worked on CPG products that needed branding that would communicate their values to customers through packaging design; we have even helped craft a marketing strategy for a B2B Saas platform that aims to advocate for more visibility for minority business owners.
I feel like I have lived so many lives sometimes. I got into this business by being my ideal client and learning first hand how to brand and market myself. I like to say that we know how to reach your ideal audience because we are your ideal audience. That’s what I believe sets us apart. We aim to form long lasting relationships with our clients, where many new-emerging agencies opt to dial in for only one campaign or project. The R+D required to onboard a new client, in my opinion, makes me emotionally attached to their success!

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned—and one that’s stuck with me—is how powerful human connection can be in business. You know how they say it takes seven touch points to make a sale? Well, forget that! I found out firsthand that with a little empathy and genuine interaction, you can cut that down to just one. Turns out, people don’t need a bunch of nudges if you really listen and show them that you care.
In 2019, I worked as a promotional model for a variety of brands, which taught me not only marketing and sales but also time management and teamwork. I managed projects and led teams, and after becoming the top salesperson in New England, I was preparing to scale up for a pop-up event for a CPG food and beverage brand based in Colorado. Then, COVID-19 hit, and in-person events came to a halt. What I thought would be a promising future in experiential marketing suddenly shifted.
During this time, I explored other passions, such as yoga and health coaching, both areas where I could tangibly see the impact I was making in people’s lives. Whether measuring units sold or tracking client health metrics, I realized that data and human connection could work together to achieve powerful results.
Now, as a business owner scaling my own agency, I apply that same lesson. My team and I focus on helping clients grow by integrating empathy and a deep understanding of their unique needs. Our approach goes beyond delivering strategies—we build custom brand identities that allow businesses to connect with their communities on a personal, impactful level. It’s this human-centered approach that I believe will always be at the heart of our success.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I feel like I just had a huge pivot moment in my life. I’m 28 so my Saturn return has really handed it to me the past year or so. This new direction is less about the way things feel and now about how they look.
I am learning to embrace getting older, and reevaluating what that means for me in the personal terms of like moving forward. I have lost a lot of “friends” over the years because of our lives moving in separate directions and for some reason I am so emo about that. I try not to take things personally but I genuinely always feel like my friends are my family.
I deeply cherish all of my relationships, but they say ‘not everybody can go where you are headed’. So I try to just keep my nose down and really prioritize the people that are showing up in my life and seeing how I can support them more. Quality over quantity is important when it comes to community and I am experiencing that in business and in life.
