Alissa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think to be truly successful you need to enjoy what you’re doing. There has to be fire or passion behind it. Sure, it’s a job and there are going to be those kind of days. I work hard, really hard. I think to be successful you need to have good work ethic, you don’t see it as often these days. In my industry, you have to be able to relate to the client and put them first.
Alissa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Alissa, owner of Twee Partees and Co-owner of Burst Party Co. I started Twee Partees, my balloon decor business in May of 2020 in search of something bright. This set me apart from so many people because it was such a sad and unknown time. We were able to provide smiles and often tears of happiness for drive by parties and events in a not so happy time. I think we’ve been able to maintain so many clients to this day because of the relationships built and the creativity we’re putting out there.
In October of 2023, myself and 2 of my balloon decor business-friends, Rachel from Sugar Fox Party and Aimee from Rainbow Tree Balloons, started Burst Party Co. This came from a collaboration of the 3 of us sending each other business and helping each other out on a regular basis. We are currently designing and having foil balloons manufactured. We’re more like a foil balloon boutique, creating on trend balloons that we see a void in the market. Our target customers being other balloon decorators. It’s been great so far and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media, you either love it or you hate it! I was actually a micro influencer prior to starting Twee Partees so this definitely helped me grow initially. I shared on my main page that I was starting a balloon business and I gained some followers quickly. But what has truly helped is just being consistent and real. Not every picture needs to be perfectly curated, and people want to see the real, everyday-behind the scenes. Admittedly I haven’t been as good about this recently as I’ve been busy with out new company-Burst.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth! And in this day and age-social media. But don’t sleep on seo either. I can’t believe the number of people that have found me from a quick google search!
