We were lucky to catch up with Alisa Townsel recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Everyone throws the term self-care around so often that it has become a cliché. Although it is more acceptable to take care of oneself, the problem remains the time to do . This is especially true with busy working women. Our goal is to bring a “mini spa”experience directly to our customers in the comfort of their home. We bring the spa experience to our customers so all they have to do is relax! In addition, our online store sells athletic leisure wear, products and accessories aligned to self-care as well.
Alisa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Busy working women need to be inspired to revive themselves! Often times we are wives and mothers and even bosses in our business and we take care of everyone and we need to carve out time to inspire and revive ourselves. That can take the form of aromatherapy, scented candles, facials and face misters. It can also be stretching on an inspired exercise mat, journal writing, taking the time to reflect on your thoughts for the day and having inspired/affirming products and accessories to remind our customers about the importance of faith, inner strength and resilience.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I started my business right as the Covid pandemic was beginning to subside. There was still so much anxiety and lack of self-care that I saw in my own life as well as in the lives of other working moms such as myself. I had a desire to start a business that would be what I needed at the time… a small temporary oasis in the midst of this busy world.. I believed that people needed to rely on their faith more and take time to relax and renew themselves and get grounded again. I wanted my business to be a part of making that happen.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started the business, strictly as an online store at first, things were picking up momentum and then my son needed scoliosis surgery. That took up a great deal of my time, and I had less time to dedicate to building the business. Slowly, as he recovered, I began to shift my focus back to making my dream of this business become a reality. Another development occurred in my business recently as I prepared to be a vendor at a large event. In preparing for the event, it became apparent to me that it would be a more engaging experience for attendees if I offered on demand chair massages and/or facials. After planning with a my cousin who is a long time colleague of mine, and fellow self-care enthusiast (her name is Maxine Ellison) we offered these additional services to attendees of the event to enhance their experience. It resulted in my decision to add this as a routine service to customers to offer them the ultimate “mobile mini-spa” experience! I look forward to this continuing to grow and expand so that more spa services can be offered to customers right in the comfort of their own home. It’s perfect for busy moms, bridal showers parties, or even for ladies’ night in experiences with friends.
