We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alisa Tovmanyan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alisa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I think I’ve known I was on a creative path for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I was always creating something, whether it was arts and crafts, doodling flowers, or sketching dresses. I remember drawing on my tables, filling the margins of my homework with designs instead of focusing on assignments, and spending hours flipping through fashion magazines.
Even as a child, I had this clear sense that my future would be both creative and entrepreneurial. I grew up surrounded by business. My family were business owners, and I would often work for my dad. That experience gave me an understanding of hard work and independence, which is why I did a year of business school to strengthen my foundation. But I also knew I had to follow my passion, so I studied fashion design at Woodbury University.
At first, I imagined launching my own fashion brand. But after getting married, life took a beautiful turn. My mother-in-law owned a small flower shop, and I saw an opportunity to bring my creative vision into a new world. I wanted to elevate floral design and introduce something that felt fresh, artistic, and fashion-inspired.
That was how J’Adore Les Fleurs transformed. I began bringing the fashion world into the floral world, creating seasonal collections, introducing unique design concepts, and shaping an aesthetic that became our signature. Those ideas caught on quickly, and now I see many flower shops following that path and being inspired by us.
For me, it has always been about blending art and business in a way that feels authentic. What started as a love for drawing flowers and dresses as a little girl has become a career where I get to create beauty every day and share it with the world.

Alisa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the Creative Director and Co-Founder of J’Adore Les Fleurs, a luxury floral boutique with locations in Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas. My journey into this industry wasn’t something I planned on paper, but it was a natural evolution of who I’ve always been. I have had a love for design and beauty for as long as I can remember. I studied fashion design and fine arts at Woodbury University with the dream of launching my own brand, and I also studied business because I grew up surrounded by entrepreneurship. My family owned businesses, and I spent much of my younger years working with my father, learning what it takes to run a company.
After meeting my husband, I was introduced to my mother-in-law’s small flower shop. Following my graduation and in the same year that I got married, we launched J’Adore Les Fleurs in 2015. I saw the opportunity to bring something entirely new to the floral world, blending high fashion with floral design. I began creating collections the way fashion houses do, with seasonal arrangements, curated color palettes, using fashion as inspiration and innovative packaging that transformed how people experienced flowers. This vision became the signature style of J’Adore Les Fleurs and has gone on to set new trends in the floral industry..
Our boutique specializes in luxury floral arrangements presented in Parisian-inspired hat boxes and unique vases. We work with everything from everyday occasions to large-scale weddings and corporate events. What sets us apart is our commitment to artistry and presentation. Every arrangement is designed to tell a story and evoke emotion, much like a couture piece on a runway.
For our clients, we don’t just sell flowers, we create luxurious moments through flowers. Whether it’s a grand gesture, a celebration, or any expression of love, we understand how powerful fresh flowers can be in capturing emotion. That’s what we’re most proud of.
What I want people to know about J’Adore Les Fleurs is that everything we do comes from a place of passion, creativity, and a desire to inspire through fresh flowers. We were the first to introduce the concept of seasonal floral collections in Parisian- hat boxes, and it’s been exciting to see that idea resonate so strongly that others now follow. At our core, we’re about beauty, innovation, and creating experiences that people remember.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing my vision come to life and watching how it makes people feel. Whether it’s a flower arrangement that brings someone to tears or a design that completely transforms a space, there’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that J’Adore Les Fleurs created beauty that touched someone’s day. I love that I can tell stories through flowers, create emotion, and make even the smallest moments feel meaningful. That connection between creativity and people’s emotions is what keeps me inspired every single day.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When we launched J’Adore Les Fleurs in 2015, our growth on social media happened very naturally. At that time, our concept was something completely new in the floral world, and Instagram was just starting to become a strong platform for brands. People were drawn to our designs, and we saw organic growth almost immediately. Many celebrities also became fans of our work and shared it with their audiences, which gave us incredible exposure and brought even more attention to our brand. Anastasia Soare loved J’Adore Les Fleurs, so she posted us numerous times. She also introduced Oprah Winfrey to J’Adore Les Fleurs and today we are so honored to be able to be their florist. We are forever grateful of this.
Of course, the social media landscape has changed over the years, and the algorithms make it more challenging to maintain that same kind of organic reach. But the key for us has always been consistency, creativity, and staying true to our aesthetic.
My advice to someone starting now would be to focus on building a brand identity that feels authentic, stay consistent with posting, and create content that people want to share. Trends come and go, but authenticity and strong branding will always stand out.
