Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alicia Sacayon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alicia, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to make every single customer I serve feel as beautiful and empowered as they can be. I want to make people escape their everyday lives and feel free and gorgeous so they can do the things they love. I don’t make people pretty, I only enhance the beauty that was already there.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a thirty-two year old latina makeup artist and hairdresser from Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Just like many others, life wasn’t smooth sailing, but I managed to achieve dreams that I had envisioned for years. I’ve always had a passion for makeup and hair and I’ve always dreamed of doing it professionally. So I went to school, got my license, and have continued to learn new skills to master my craft. Apart from makeup, I also do eyebrow lamination, henna brows, eyelash extensions, and many things with hair such as; highlights/all over color, hair cuts, hairstyles/updos. I love to make clients feel better about themselves and see a smile when they look at themselves. I love doing what I do and you rarely find that nowadays. I would like everyone to know that I am humble with everything I do and do things with love, passion, and detail. I am proud of the satisfaction my customers receive when they see what I can do for them.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Previously I mentioned how I was thirty two and was finally able to achieve a dream I had for years. I didn’t have the opportunity to go to college for cosmetology. I had to work hard to be in a place where I could finally afford to pursue a professional education in cosmetology. There have been many times where I wanted to conform to what I had because the Dream never seemed to be getting any closer. But I persisted and was finally able to reach it. Things don’t always arrive as fast as you want it to. For any of you reading that have an idea and that have a passion for it, remember that it’s never too late to pursue what you want. A quote that has always stuck with me is, “The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the next best time is right now.” And that’s true for many people including myself.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Having the knowledge to do a good job is great, but having no one to use that knowledge on isn’t. Social media is a great tool for growing your business and getting your name out there. I’ve been posting my work on my social media accounts and have managed to grow an audience which I soon found out is how more and more people know of me and solicit me for my work. Social media can help greatly but it isn’t always immediate. My biggest advice is to post consistently and often in order to keep your audience and get more at the same time. Simply posting your work can get not only to possible clientele, but can open doors for business opportunities and wider recognition.
