Hi Alicia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
In my 10-year career in HR, I hired thousands of people in over 40 industries. It was important to me to be able to have more freedom in my life and make a greater impact on people’s careers. I have seen so many employees leave thousands of dollars on the table because they didn’t negotiate their salary or didn’t even know they could. I witnessed many people taking lower-level positions without understanding the value or extent of their skills. There have even been instances where people have taken jobs they don’t want. In order to win in Corporate America, you have to play the game, and I wanted to show people how to win on their terms. It was time for employees to prioritize their needs and expectations over the success of Corporate America. I decided to take the insight & experience I gained in HR & empower people to know their value, break corporate limits, & take control of their careers so they can live the life they dream of. I see a lot of career coaches “shuffling” people into just any job. Telling them everything to say they can have all the right answers to be the “perfect fit”. People are tired of being squeezed into jobs that don’t fit in. It’s not about having a dream job anymore. It’s bigger than that. The key is to have a career that supports your dream life and does not hinders it.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I am very honest with my audience. I don’t give them a lot of fluff but I tell them they may face challenges in their career & but it’ll be all worth it. We live in a society where everyone wants “easy & fast”. But I show people that challenges & consistency can create wonderful results. I am not afraid to go against the grain because I know the people I have been sent to serve need to hear my words. I believe my authenticity & staying true to the God I serve has built my reputation.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
This is definitely a side hustle turned full-time business. I had no intention of having a full-time business. I loved the consistency of my bi-weekly check. But once I got into it, it blew up faster than I could have ever imagined & I couldn’t let go of the freedom & creative control I had. I realized I was able to build my dream as big as I wanted it to be. I have been in business for almost 3 years & I have been able to replace me & my husbands’ salary & then some. I remember when I was doing everything on my own but now I have a team who helps me carry out my vision. Everything I do is for the kingdom of God & to benefit others. If God allows, I am excited to see the future.
