We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alicia Osmera a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Alicia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I’m taking a risk right now. No, not with this interview, with jumping into starting my own business.
I’m coming from a twenty-nine-year career as a licensed and certified respiratory therapist is an alarming move to make. After writing and publishing my first book, Terror In the North Tower eight years ago, I knew what I wanted to be doing as a career.
I’ve been blogging now for about six years and I love connecting with other people.
I’m betting on myself, my abilities, and my knowledge, and with God’s help, I will be successful.

My business is called Osmera Ascending Solutions. Founded March 7, 2023. My goal is to provide clients with excellent customer service while providing their writing needs for newsletters, emails, social media content, and blog content for both short and long-term SEO (Search Engine Optimization) needs.
What sets me apart?
Years of medical knowledge for a potential client needing someone with my skill set. (Not just for medical)
Paying attention to even the smallest of details the client chooses, quick turnaround times, and service with a smile.
Publishing my first book, Terror In The North Tower, inspired me, to look at writing as a career.
Solving social media content and engagement is my favorite part of this new beginning.
My specialties would consist of anything to do with medical science, motorcycles, and construction, just to name a few.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Oh yes, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Everyone should read this book!! He guides you through the steps to becoming successful.
Another favorite of mine is Seven Steps To Success by John C. Maxwell. It’s worth the time to read it.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding my business well, to be honest, I’ve got no start-up funds. It’s just me trying to find grants or loans for what I’m venturing into has been challenging.
I’m working from my home office so I didn’t need any new equipment.
