Alicia , appreciate you joining us today. Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?
Back in 2020 I wanted to get back into permanent cosmetic . ( tattooing eyebrows) The industry itself had evolved over 10 years from when which I first was trained; there way more advanced education , new luxury products, tools and techniques.
Microblading, being one of the techniques ; so I decided too get certified. I was comfortable with tattooing it was the hair stroke patterns that was a challenge ; my challenge was getting symmetrically even strokes , this skill comes with practice and time but I wanted to become great fast so that I could be doing great brows at a expert level , minimize errors and essentially gross more revenue in my business .
I thought if tattoo artist use a stencil why cant brow artist, that is when I developed and created Brow Skeleton,
the term ” skeleton” is the the layout of your initial hair stroke pass. the system I created offers 10 stroke patterns that mimic common and natural hair strokes.
Brow Skeleton is a transferable tattoo stencil, which guides new artist too create great brows. The system / tool allows artist to gain skills at a much more rapid pace and fast track there permanent cosmetic business as well. It allows newer artist the confidence to take on challenging eyebrows
Brow Skeleton is a trademark and patent pending product. revolutionizing the brow games and bridging the gap of errors made by artist in the early days of their new practice.

Alicia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I originally got into the beauty industry at the age of 19 years old because of my troubled skin, I quickly recognized the results and benefits that skincare provided. Skincare, is about the process, out-smarting and building resistance to skin conditions.
The beauty industry has created the false idea that skincare is a luxury rather than a necessity. I understand the importance of a proper skincare regimen. My vast and extensive knowledge for skin care gives me the cutting edge to educate individuals on the importance of keeping their skin’s integrity intact.
As your friend in the beauty industry ; Its my commitment too guide you in the “process” of maintaining the overall health, integrity and longevity of your skin . Aging is life’s natural course and while a fountain of youth hasn’t been discovered, you can certainly help your skin through the proper practice and care. Your beauty is by business and I strive for natural looking results, the goal is age gracefully and stay youthful looking. I love talking with individuals about where they should be in the process and where to invest and not to invest. There are many treatments out there and it can be overwhelming on knowing where to begin.
I am approaching my 20 year anniversary in 2024, I am proud to say , I am always continue too learn, grow and stay informed on new trends and cutting edge treatments. Every product or treatment I use or recommend I use personally and have experienced myself. I have clients who have been loyal for nearly 20 years .

How did you build your audience on social media?
Okay, the dreaded social media ! Social media was not a thing when I began my business. I networked and got in rooms with potential clients, the old school way.
when I built up a steady clientele I encouraged referrals, because the reality that is the best kind of business: when someone sees your work and wants to know who they go too. Social media is a full time job in its self, as a services provider I use it as a portfolio for my results, its shows the range of demographic I work on , plus I provide fun tips & tricks , favorite products or treatment knowledge.
I am not successful because of social media, I am successful because I show up and am consistent .I find when I show real people ,and my own authenticity , that’s when I find I receive the most engagement.
My best advice is too be 100% yourself , you’ll attract the your people.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
” If you build it he will come” – Field of Dreams . If I could drop a mic I would. I you have the desire or passion to create, there is a really good chance someone will either need or want what you’ve created. More than likely these individuals will come to you!
If you follow me , you know I am a big believer in getting in the “room” with like minded people. One thing I’ve learned in my 20 year experience as an entrepreneur, it is not over night oats, entrepreneurship is a marathon , and I say that with actually physical running 10 full marathons. , It’s a slow burn with high and lows , with questions on why you even signed up…there is no finish line in business unless you quit so you better have resilience to push through, or your biggest failure with be living with regret.
Two sources I gravitate too is Earn Your Happy and Powerhouse Women.
