We recently connected with Alicia Mazari-Andersen and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alicia, thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Through my life, I have had trouble with my digestion. This has had an impact on the way I have related with my family. When my kids were younger, I used to be a very dominant mom, similar to the way I grew up. Without really realizing how much I did impact their lives. Until I changed my digestion, everything started changing. Besides being a Biologist with a PhD in Botany, and having taught higher education for 25+ years, I am also a holistic nutritionist. Since I started this, my digestion completely changed, same as the way I relate to others.
In 2017 we had the opportunity to have a platform where we were able to look at nutrition from the genetic perspective. I was unsure about this platform, because I realized it had “typos,” which in DNA are huge.
Last year I realized that our mentor, an ND in Toronto, saw the same, and created a better way to discover the genetic root causes of diseases. Since last year we decided to do this work, and not only my digestion improved even more, but I am also coaching several people around the world, both in English and Spanish, to discover how to be as healthy as possible understanding your own DNA.
This has also taken my business to a different place, and I am very excited to share my knowledge with many people around the world, and the impact it can have on people’s health and wellness.
Definitely these have been defining moments in my life. Every thing is an experience.
Alicia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Through my own story, I have learned that our nutrition is a fundamental piece in our health and wellness. I am an educator, with 25+ years teaching higher education in different Biology courses, from Microbiology, Cell Biology, Bochemistry, General Biology, etc. Now that I have been able to take all of this knowledge and apply it to health, it’s been a great way of having an impact in people’s lives.
Although I have been doing 1-on-1 coaching, now I had to move into group coaching. The idea behind this, is that people can have the control on their own health, understanding their genetics and what’s the impact it can have
The main focus on my practice is teaching and implementing ways, based on your genetics, to reset your genes, and be as healthy as possible.
Imagine a world in which each of us are able to take control of our own health and wellness. In my own story, I am 63 years old, and I can say I feel like 30.
Why not try it?
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have been a nutritional consultant for almost 14 years. Coaching 1-on-1 and especially, teaching kids how to create health habits has been rewarding. However, I couldn’t have the impact I wanted to have. I have been offering several group coaching courses, and has been a trial and error, using the Producl Launch Formula and other strategies, I have finally found a way that can truly impact people’s way of looking at their own health, and taking control of it.
I have been launching programs since 2017, and it has been until now, that it’s finally working. I have been able to impact more people around the world. From South America to Canada, both in English and Spanish.
It’s been a trial and error, and definitely being resilient in to what I wanted to achieve.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I look back into my story, now I understand the reason why I concentrated on teaching Biology, Teaching is something I truly enjoy. In this case, and at the moment, teaching the public is nicer than teaching at Higher Education, since no marking is involved. And also, putting things into practice and getting real results is totally worth it. If I go back, I would had liked to implement what I teach earlier into health and wellness earlier in my life. However, this time, I am looking into training others to do what I do, so we can have a larger impact in people’s wellness and health.
