Alright, Alicia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

One of the most defining moments in my professional career came during a deeply personal and challenging time. I was in the midst of writing my book, I See My Baby, when my mother going through stage 4 lung cancer and passed away. Her passing was a profound loss, but it also convicted me to truly follow my dreams and honor the legacy she left behind. It was during this period of reflection and grief that I realized how fleeting life is, and I knew I needed to pursue my passion for supporting women on their journeys.

In November 2023, I made a bold decision to leave my job and fully commit to establishing my nonprofit, I See My Baby Inc. This wasn’t just a career shift for me—it was a life shift. I vowed to birth the dream of creating a wellness center that would serve women holistically, offering them the support, care, and guidance that I wished I had during my own challenges.

This journey has been one of deep personal growth, learning, and fulfillment. Stepping into the roles of a doula, life coach, and mentor has allowed me to connect with women on such a meaningful level, helping them navigate their paths with strength and resilience. My mother’s passing and the process of writing my book were catalysts that changed the trajectory of my life, pushing me to embrace my true calling.

The lesson I’ve learned from this experience is the importance of listening to that inner voice, even when it’s scary, and allowing life’s most challenging moments to propel you toward your purpose. It’s about having the courage to pursue what truly sets your soul on fire and knowing that by following your passion, you can make a lasting impact in the lives of others.

My name is Alicia Hurtt, and I am the founder of I See My Baby Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women throughout their journey from conception to postpartum, and beyond. My path into this industry was deeply personal and fueled by my own experiences with infertility and the desire to help other women facing similar challenges.

My journey began with a dream to become a mother, a dream that was met with many obstacles. After years of trying to conceive, I found myself grappling with the emotional rollercoaster that many women experience when faced with infertility. During this time, I leaned heavily on my faith, family, and community, which led me to realize how crucial it is to have a strong support system. This realization planted the seeds for I See My Baby Inc., an organization aimed at providing holistic support to women at every stage of their reproductive journey.

At I See My Baby Inc., we offer a range of services designed to empower and uplift women. These include birth and postpartum doula services, life coaching, and holistic wellness practices such as yoni steams, meditation, and educational workshops. We are currently working on establishing a wellness center in Bainbridge, GA, that will feature birthing rooms, ongoing education classes, and spaces for both group and one-on-one coaching. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment where women can find the resources, care, and community they need to thrive.

What sets us apart from others in this field is our commitment to holistic care. We don’t just focus on one aspect of a woman’s journey; we support her mind, body, and spirit. Whether a woman is facing the challenges of infertility, navigating the ups and downs of pregnancy, or seeking postpartum support, we are here to walk alongside her, offering compassionate care and evidence-based practices.

One of the things I am most proud of is our community outreach and the partnerships we’ve built with other professionals in the field. For example, we’ve partnered with Elyvation Station, a holistic wellness center in Laurel, MD, to provide services that have helped hundreds of women conceive through natural methods. These partnerships allow us to extend our reach and impact even more lives.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What helped me build my reputation within the market was my willingness to be transparent and share my personal journey through I See My Baby. Writing my memoir and allowing my life to unfold publicly created a strong connection with others who could relate to my experiences.

People resonate with authenticity, and by openly sharing both the challenges and triumphs of my journey—especially my struggles with infertility and the eventual joy of motherhood—I was able to build trust and establish a genuine connection with my audience. This transparency not only humanized my brand but also allowed others to see that they are not alone in their experiences.

By being open about my story and the lessons I’ve learned, I’ve created a space where women feel comfortable and supported, knowing that they’re working with someone who truly understands their journey. This has been a cornerstone of my reputation and success in this market.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a combination of building genuine relationships and creating value-driven content. By sharing my personal story and experiences through I See My Baby, I’ve been able to connect with my audience on a deeper level, which naturally builds trust and loyalty.

Additionally, I’ve focused on offering educational resources and support that address the specific needs of my community. This includes hosting webinars, providing one-on-one consultations, and being active in online groups where my target audience gathers. By consistently showing up and offering value, I’ve been able to establish myself as a trusted resource and attract clients who are looking for the support and guidance I provide.

Word of mouth and referrals have also played a significant role in growing my clientele. When people feel genuinely supported and cared for, they’re more likely to recommend my services to others. Combining these relationship-building efforts with strategic partnerships and collaborations has helped me expand my reach and continue to grow my client base.
