We were lucky to catch up with Alicia Helms recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alicia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?

As a new real estate broker with coaching now in place, I think success boils down to several key factors:

Consistency-
Real estate is a relationship business, and the more consistent you are in networking, lead generation, and follow up, the more momentum you build

Adaptability-
Markets fluctuate, and client needs shift. Being able to adapt your strategies to suit the current conditions is key.

Continuous learning-
Real estate is an evolving industry, so keeping up with market data is essential. I do believe that having a coach can provide you insights that would otherwise take years to gather through trial and error.

Having a strong mindset and staying resilient plays a huge part as well in your success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Fifteen years ago, I began my real estate journey as an investor alongside my dad. We had dreams, built relationships, and grew together. But when my dad passed away, I lost my way. I thought about giving up because the weight of loss felt too heavy. However, deep down, I knew there was a greater purpose for me. I believe that God always has a plan, and even in the toughest moments, He guides us forward.

With that belief, I decided to press on. I got my real estate license and threw myself into the business. Three years later, I am proud to say that I now own my own brokerage. The road hasn’t been easy and the challenges I’ve faced have been real. But I can confidently say that through God, all things are possible.

My family has been my greatest motivation, in my real estate journey. They’ve not only been my support system but also a constant reminder of why I continue doing what I love. The love and strength we’ve built together inspire me to keep pushing, especially when the road gets tough. Seeing my family thrive because of the hard work I put in reminds me of the bigger picture. It’s not just about selling homes- it’s about creating a legacy of perseverance and success for my loved ones. Knowing that my family believes in me gives me the courage to keep moving, even on the most challenging days. Not only family but also my clients. I love -seeing the pure joy on my client’s faces when they hold that ” Sold” sign. It reminds me of my “Why”- the reason I started the purpose I live for. I love helping my clients discover their own ” Why”- the reason they keep pushing, the dreams they want to fulfill.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I’m still building my reputation in this industry as a new broker. At first, I was such an introvert and afraid to really put myself out there because I worried about what others might think. but over time, I realized that my character and confidence, I’ve got this. If people like me and want to do business with me, they will, and if they don’t, that’s okay too. It’s about staying true to who I am and letting the right clients come my way.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been word of mouth. When clients experience a smooth and successful transaction, they naturally share that experience with friends, family and colleagues. Building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service has led to referrals becoming a consistent and reliable way to grow my business. There’s nothing quite like the power of personal recommendations- it shows that trust and integrity are at the core of what I do.
