My name is Alicia Galo, and together with my partners Héctor Toro and Óscar Funes, we are the founders of Athoz, a service of Galos Corp. created to transform, simplify, and elevate the internal operations of foodservice businesses.
Before developing software, we were—and still are—restaurant owners, operators, consultants, chefs, and turnaround specialists. Our hands-on experience in the food industry naturally merged with our technology backgrounds. We know firsthand what it feels like to work double shifts, tackle staffing challenges, fight to control payroll costs, and still open the doors each morning with unwavering determination.

Our journey with Athoz is a story of resilience.
Even with experience, deep industry knowledge, and a clear vision of what I wanted to build, stepping into this path was anything but easy. I faced challenges that, more than once, could have been valid reasons to give up.
In building a technology solution from scratch, I encountered developers who abandoned projects, people who promised partnerships and delivered deceit, and clients who tried to replicate our ideas without understanding the true value of what we were creating. I also faced constant resistance — from prospects who don’t believe in technology, to businesses stuck in the mindset of “this is how we’ve always done it,” within an industry often wary of innovation.
And still, I persisted.
Because I saw what many could not: that technology — when born from lived experience and crafted for real-life operations — isn’t a complication; it’s freedom. That automation, simplification, and modernization aren’t luxuries, but lifelines for independent restaurants striving to survive and grow in a world dominated by large chains.
Building Athoz has come at a cost. Not just financial, but in time, energy, family sacrifices, and countless sleepless nights. And yet, I have never regretted it. Every feature, every update, every line of code carries the weight of real stories — kitchens under pressure, restaurants on the brink of closing, business owners who simply needed a tool to help them regain control.
I am deeply grateful to my partners, Héctor Toro and Óscar Funes, who have also sacrificed so much and pour their hearts into this mission every single day.
