We were lucky to catch up with Alicia Ciak recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Alicia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Hey! I’m Alicia Ciak.
I’ve been on my own fitness journey since I was 16 years old after enduring a painful hamstring injury that ended my dance career. What seemed to be such a tragic end to a huge passion of mine was actually just the beginning of finding my love for health and fitness.
At 23 years old, I have coached and built a multiple six figure business while also growing my following on social media, launching my modeling career, and speaking about health and business topics at fitness events.
However, after coaching thousands of women, I realized that I not only wanted to help them lose weight and feel their absolute best…but also help them become their own “Fit Alpha Female” (name of my business)… the woman they’ve always wanted to become. I want to help them overcome the feelings of not feeling confident, people pleasing, enoughness, etc. and truly learning to love ourselves from the inside out .. not just because we see a lower number on the scale.
As I’ve coached more and more women I’ve found that the true struggles they’re having are not just around nutrition and working out… but also around much deeper topics such as wanting to feel sexy in their own skin, bring intimacy back into their relationship, or even just start saying no more and putting their goals first again. This is why I’ve created not only a fitness program, but also starting offering a whole embodiment program to now help women on the personal development and mindset level so they can fully become the “Fit Alpha Female” they’ve always wanted to be.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As mentioned previously, I started my own fitness journey at just 16 years old after enduring a painful hamstring injury that ended my dance career. Not being able to participate in any other sports led me to starting to work out at home watching YouTube videos and trying all types of diets that worked but were never truly sustainable long term. It wasn’t until I got my own gym membership and hired a coach of my own for the first time that my life and results were truly changed.
I always knew I wanted to have my own business, but it wasn’t until a coach changed my life that I realized the health and fitness industry was exactly where my business was meant to be. I started shadowing different coaches as young as 17 years old before getting my coaching and nutrition certifications right when I turned 18 years old. In addition, I also started coaching in local gyms and got promoted to a manager position as young as 19 years old before going fully online with my coaching business full time by the time I was 21 years old.
Since then, I have coach thousands of women and helped them not only lose fat and keep it off.. but help them step into becoming what a “Fit Alpha Female” means to them.
Now in 2022 especially, there’s so many different health and fitness programs out there.. but one aspect that makes my business different is we don’t just focus on the fitness aspect .. but learning to express and feel sexy from the inside out is a huge portion of what I help my clients with along with letting go of the social norms around women’s sexuality. Every single female deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and sexy in their own skin… and that goes much deeper than just losing the weight.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Recently, I actually decided to make a slight pivot with my coaching brand and it was honestly one of the scariest business decisions I’ve ever made…but it’s already turned into the most profitable by far.
Prior to making this pivot, I had worked with many different business mentors in the industry to help me create, build, and scale my online coaching business. I learned A LOT the past few years and would never regret any of those investments. However, I quickly began to notice that my business was slowly starting to looking like every other coach in the industry right now…promoting fat-loss, fixing a broken metabolism, etc. and I could feel that my social media content was becoming very vanilla as well.. I was being told to make all these different types of hires in my business from assistant coaches to virtual assistants and more… and I kept getting further and further away from why I wanted to start my business in the first place and how I actually wanted my brand to look.
After over six months of completely hating my business despite hitting record months… I made the scary decision to not only step away from my mentors at the time .. but also let go of my entire team so I could take a step back and restructure my entire business..which ended up being much easier than I thought..because I knew deep down EXACTLY what I wanted to do for months.
Rather than continuing to make vanilla posts like many other coaches are doing right now.. I started talking more about female empowerment in my content and why that’s so important to me and my brand. I started posting much more polarizing topics on my social media and podcast..despite knowing some people would publicly disagree with my opinion and view points. In addition, I started creating more affordable options for fitness coaching as well (especially with our economy right now) and will be launching my very own fitness app VERY soon as well so I can ultimately help even more women.
Making the pivot with my brand has been the best decision I’ve ever made so far with my business. It helped me bring joy back into building and scaling my brand.. along with also helping me call in more soul mate clients . Not just someone who wants to lose weight.. but someone who has goals but also fully embodies the message of my brand.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been from my Facebook group and Tiktok. Taking time to build up my free Facebook group especially has been amazing for new clients because you can add free value to build rapport and trust by doing live trainings, challenges, sharing client testimonials, open Q&As and more.
Short form video content is also king right now in the marketing space. Video allows people to connect with you on a whole different level compared to posting just a photo and caption. Video content will help people know, like, and even trust you .. which will help them eventually buy from you.
