We were lucky to catch up with Alicia Barthelemy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alicia , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about how you got your first non-friend, non-family client. Paint the picture for us so we can feel the same excitement you felt on that day.
I lived in an apartment building for 5 years, during that time my neighbor Miriam(client) and her husband were retired. Due to health complications her husband passed away living Miriam by herself. Miriam suffers of a mental health condition and her only daughter lived outside of Florida. Miriam health declined, since she was living alone she kept falling and my husband and I helped her in several occasions. Her daughter decided to sell the apartment because her mom needed to have nursing aide at all times . Miriam and her daughter trusted me with their biggest investment which it was her home. The satisfaction of selling her home that can help pay for Miriam nursing home expenses was the biggest accomplishment. Through the process of selling her home we encountered many difficulties. The excitement I had was to be able to close on the property despite having so many mishaps, that more than the money is making a difference in peoples life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into Real Estate because I had a dream to become a business owner to provide for my children and to leave a legacy. I have worked in Public Health for almost 10 years and serving the community has always been my passion. I believe in going above and beyond to provide top tier service & and exceptional client experience. My main goal is to protect client interests, guide them throughout the process and of buying and selling real estate. I am committed to listening to her client’s needs; while ensuring they get the best deal available. As a natural leader, Alicia utilizes firm negotiating skills and innovative marketing strategies to successfully close each transaction. When Alicia isn’t making homeownership and investment dreams come true for her clients, she enjoys fitness, spending time with her family, traveling, attending local events and restaurants. She is driven by a greater purpose and has been actively devoted to supporting charitable causes, volunteering at her local church and fundraisers.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe what make’s me stand out in my market is my expertise in the housing market, dedication to getting the job done, and transparent communication with my clients. I am more than just a realtor; I am a trusted guide that provides great customer satisfaction and provide all of my clients white glove service. I am reliable and helpful every step of the process. These are all some of the qualities that has helped build my reputation and bring to each of my clients transactions.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have been able to grow my followers and engagement on social media through consistency and staying true to myself. The key is to stay authentic, be intentional, and stay consistent. It’s easy to lose yourself in the social media world, don’t focus on what others are doing, focus on being present and intentional. I use social media as a tool to compliment my business. If you choose to start with social media, don’t overthink it and just start! Have a professional head shot ready, post reels or stories every day and just maintain a consistent flow of content and tell your own story.
