We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alicia Arciniega a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alicia, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order to be successful, one must maintain a positive mindset and have faith in the process. The pandemic brought my initial business, Skin Utopia By Alicia, to a complete halt and I subsequently had to close my business. I was saddened, as I needed to relocate and say goodbye to my amazing clients; however, this time afforded me the opportunity to attend nursing school and obtain my vocational nursing license. My nursing training has allowed me to bring a different type of knowledge and mindset to my business that I did not have previously. Throughout the ups and downs, I had faith that I would have the opportunity to reopen and become successful once again. Prayer, my amazing husband positive affirmations and authors like, Dr. Wayne Dyer, have truly kept me going forward with courage and love.

Alicia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Prior to starting my business, I was a probation officer for several years. I one day had a vision of attending esthetician school and decided to take a leap of faith and thoroughly immerse myself into a new field. 10 years later, I am a nurse and the owner of The Lash Lift Nurse in Burbank. I specialize in the keratin Lash lift at my home treatment room. I love making women feel amazing and I believe it is so important for women to support and empower other women. Inclusion, love and peace are what I stand for and I am an advocate for the LGBTQ community.
I believe in providing my clients with exceptional service at each and every visit. I offer referral and loyalty rewards, as I am so absolutely grateful for every one of my clients. They allow me to live out my dreams!
In addition to being an Aesthetician, I sing with my husband and work as a nurse at an elementary school. Helping kids feel safe and loved when they are at school is so important to me.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I communicate with my clients via text following their appointments to express my gratitude for trusting me with their lashes and skincare. Additionally, as aforementioned, I offer my clients referral and loyalty rewards. For example, after 5 visits, they receive a FREE Lash lift. Furthermore, they receive 20% Off for every referral. I am so absolutely grateful for my clients, as I meet amazing women every week!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been through social media posts/ads. With my previous business, Yelp was absolutely instrumental in my success.
