Alright, Alice thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
It can be hard sometimes coming up with a name for anything, but naming my business wasn’t hard. I wanted to incorporate my family, my dream and of course what I would be doing. So I came up with Garner’s Sweet Dreams! Our family name is Garner and my dream after the military was to have a cupcake business, so hence the name!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a wife and mother of 8 children. I medically retired from the Army in 2019 after having complications from cervical cancer. I got into my industry, because I’ve always loved to cook and bake. Once I medically retried from the Army, I had to come up with a new plan for my life. Since I loved baking, I decided to start my own cupcake bakery. I provide made from scratch treats, such as cupcakes, cookies, brownies, cakes, and pound cakes. A lot of people love made from scratch treats and that’s what I provide for them. I think what sets me apart from everyone else is the love i put into my treats, to me it’s the love that makes my treats different. I am most proud of trusting God and starting my business. I want potential clients to know that I have a love and passion for what I do and I put all of that love in my treats. I also want them to know that everything is made from scratch!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think having good and tasty treats, helped build my reputation within my market. I also think that because people could see me making my treats and seeing that they were actually made, also helped build my reputation.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me have been my clients. They love telling others about my treats and their experience at my cupcake bakery.
