We recently connected with Ali Raza and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ali thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Memories of me starting were at about age twenty one, still young and naive. Initially, I wanted to do acting in my youth. Loved being able to put on a show for people or a singular person, could be as simple as making them laugh. Alway having a love for music I indulged on the writing side not long after I could understand lyrics in a a musical sense. Starting younger always develops a better and more sustainable foundation in my opinion.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I strictly got into songwriting and performing out of needs for therapy in order to express myself. I aspire to be able to provide hope for the hopeless.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
A lot of creatives tend to look past and being to overthink a lot of decisions. There is a fine distinction between judgement and fair criticism and it’s our job as artists to be able to decipher and move forward.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Recording in my sisters closet and really just hustling around my town. Hanging up posters in places I really had no business walking around.
