We recently connected with Alfred Milan and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alfred, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Going from idea to execution is the beginning of a light bulb moment for our organization. As a CEO of another organization, I was asked about this idea from an employee, and it got me to realize if we could pull it off, we will be able to build a great company.
I begin to put all the pieces to the puzzle in place and formed a terrific team for the execution. What I have learned is that getting over the fear helps you to execute at a high level. If your dreams do not scare you then your dreams are too small. You must DREAM BIG!
We figured out that there are many Americans who are financially insecure and need access to funding immediately before pay day and that is the problem we are solving.
Alfred, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I stumbled into this industry by a question asked of me by an employee. Fintech was all around me, but I did not know how relevant it is in our society to allow finance and technology to merge to help consumers.
We provide access to finances for employees who need them for emergencies and for daily usage for a small fee. We wanted to compete with the pay day lenders who take advantage of employees with high APR and no benefits.
We are a company that will educate Americans on financial wellness and coaching them into a better financial life.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
We were able to launch our business with a family and friends round with $500,000 and now we are in the process of getting ready for our first seed round to grow the company further.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My resilience comes from parents always teaching to never give up no matter what. There are many tough times during a start-up and as a CEO you will have to make difficult discissions that affect the growth and vitality of the company. Sometimes that is not easy but necessary for personal development. Do not make excuses make adjustments.
