We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexys V Wolf. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexys V below.
Hi Alexys V, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Artist: I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon. When I was 6, a local artist saw my “work” and commented to my mom, “She’ll become a professional artist one day. She has the gift!”
Writing: When I was 11, I looked at my parents and said, “I’m going to be a writer when I grow up!” They were stunned and amused because, at that time, I hated to read. It was impossible for them.to take me seriously, but I knew for sure.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As an artist, writer, and publisher, it is difficult to separate them. All are steeped in creativity, so they spring from the same root. I founded my art business, The Camel’s Brush, in the late 1990s, which later morphed into my 501c3 ministry, The Fiery Sword Global Ministries, in 2007. Ministry and writing are my main focal points, but I certainly do not object to painting for clients on occasion. From childhood, I was sure I would become a famous artist since art was all I could think about, but writing eventually trumped art. My books are a ministry offshoot, centered around who God is, who we are in Him, and how to practically apply His Word to everyday life. Christ is my most intense passion above all else, so writing about Him is effortless. I love helping people as I was once in great need of help. I am in love with our Lord and Savior and long to aid others in their journey to and with Christ. Through my ministry, I began publishing my own books. Eventually, I opened The Fiery Sword Publications, and I now assist other authors in getting their works published. It is such a joy to give others what I was not offered: help in the publishing arena. I charge only a fraction of other semi-self-publishers. All-in-all, between painting, writing, and publishing, my creativity has plenty of ways to express itself.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I built my for-profit business and nonprofit ministry from nothing more than a vision and desire to pursue my passions. As a female minister growing up in a denomination where women were not allowed to minister, people’s responses were amusing. From people closest to me, i heard, Who does she think she is?.She’s a woman and never been to seminary!” “Ehp does she think she is writing books? What does she know?” One close relative took.my first book to her pastor so he could rip it to shreds, metaphorically speaking. Regardless, none of this stopped me. I continued ministering and writing. From.2007-2025, I have 47 published books and ministry globally. Never once did I defend my position or attempt to.change anyone’s mind. I trusted God through the process and let Him sort it out. I had a mission set before me and could not be waylaid by naysayers. I loved them despite their negativity and moved forward. Learning how to not be led by my emotions was paramount in my success.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of artistry of any medium, mine being painting murals and writing, is the joy people receive feom.it. With writing, there is no greater thrill than witnessing someone living in Christ’s freedom. Learning and sharing the difference between manmade religion and true holiness is indescribable.
