Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexius S. Morris . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexius, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.
Me and my husband, Michael, recently started a online clothing business together. The clothing business is his baby. He is the CEO and I act as the CBO (Chief Branding Officer, lol). I would be lying if I said working with my spouse was easy. Its far from it. The biggest challenge we’ve had is separating business from personal. Seeing them work in that capacity can be a challenge if you are normally in charge like I am.
However , I am a HUGE advocate for creating generational wealth and leaving something for our kids to be proud of. Motion Mindset Apparel launched on August 7th of this year. With new businesses, you have be prepared to nurture it to watch it grown. This is similar to having a baby.
As long as the family mix has a strong foundation, I believe family businesses can be powerhouses.

Alexius, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Alexius Morris , A 24 year-old entrepreneur from Savannah GA. I am the owner of The Boss Shop located in midtown Savannah on Abercorn Street. I am also the co-owner of Motion Mindset Apparel with My husband, Michael.
My journey in branding began in 2018. I was a broke college sophomore at East Georgia State College. I had a job at a local fast food restaurant but between my class schedule and cheerleading it was hard for me to work. So, I decided I would start an online boutique. I didn’t have money for a professional logo and branding, so I decided to do it myself.
Once people started seeing that I was really talented with brand design, I started booking more clients. My first client was my college roommate and cheer sister , Rodasia. Being a business owner in college , I had to really work on time management. I also had to understand the importance of continuing to perfect my craft by learning new skills.
I am best known for my budget friendly branding packages. I have something for every budget and I make all my clients feel like a millionaire. The main thing that I want to instill in my clients is that everyone starts from somewhere. Nobody has the right to look down at you or your business unless you give them power to do so.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective way to gain new clientele is to stay relatable. No one likes a boring conversation, always find a way to connect with your potential clients. That’s what reels them in.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being in a creative industry is the freedom i create for my clients . I’m an out of the box thinker. I don’t follow the “norms” of what a typical brand stylist does. I make each client experience different and unique .
