Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexis Sherry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexis , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I was working at a Hedge Fund I had a wonderful job in New York City but always had a passion for travel. I began booking travel for all employees with the company. Employees would ask for help in booking leisure trips for them as well. Friends and Family started asking me as well. It was then that I realized I can make this a job. I decided to quit my job and become a Travel Advisor. I took a huge risk leaving a big job to start my own business and Company. 11 Years later I could not be more proud of what I have created and built.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the hospitality industry gave me a strong appreciation for true VIP service and hospitality. After graduating from the University of Miami and a successful career managing corporate and personal travel for executives at top hedge funds and family offices in New York City, I went back to my hospitality roots to launch AS Travel Pro in 2014.
While focused on making my clients’ travel dreams come true, I have built a worldwide network of incredible friends and colleagues while visiting the endless luxurious properties. Family travel is a huge part of my life. I believe that one of the most fascinating ways to educate my two children is through traveling. Most important is I live for making everlasting memories with my friends and my family and helping my clients do the same.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My clients are mostly based on referrals…I think if you are good at your job than clients will come. If someone goes on an amazing trip they will only come back with positive things to say. Travel is always a conversation and people always love to share their memories. This always leads to who helped you plan it and that is where my referrals stem. It is alwyas nice to see where clients come from and how they have gotten my information.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I basically started documenting all of my travel…great photos and stories show casing where I am and where I have been and what I am learning. In addition my clients tend to post and tag me. This has helped since that opens up a new group of followers
