Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexis Hurewitz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
One of the most impactful projects I’ve led was with a direct-to-consumer (DTC) home decor brand that initially reached out for help launching a series of large-scale marketing campaigns — including their Black Friday/Cyber Monday rollout, seasonal promotions, a new product line launch, brand collaborations, and a brand identity refresh.
While the brand was full of creative ambition and produced a high volume of content, their lean internal marketing and creative team was overwhelmed. Disorganized workflows, misaligned schedules, constant last-minute requests, and multiple rounds of revision were daily challenges — clear signs that foundational marketing operations and creative processes and best practices were missing. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the team was overextended, timelines were slipping, and burnout was setting in.
I initially stepped in to lead the project management of several high-priority campaigns. These projects became a real-time, hands-on opportunity to demonstrate how a more strategic and efficient approach to marketing operations could directly elevate campaign quality and reduce internal friction. From there, I led a full transformation of their marketing and creative operations infrastructure.
Working collaboratively with the team, I developed a scalable marketing operations system, introduced new tools, created a standardized creative briefing process, established review protocols, and built a centralized intake and prioritization model for all incoming marketing requests. I also clarified roles and responsibilities, mapped timelines with clear accountability, and implemented systems that reduced ambiguity and duplication.
The impact was immediate and measurable. The team successfully launched their new product line on time and met every critical campaign deadline, including their Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions, seasonal promotions, and brand collaborations. Cross-functional communication improved dramatically, and we achieved over a 50% increase in project delivery efficiency. We eliminated excess revision cycles by aligning on objectives from the outset and implemented tools that could scale with the brand’s growth.
But beyond the numbers, what mattered most was the shift in how the team felt. They were no longer just surviving the workload — they were thriving in it. Team members shared how the structure and systems we built helped them feel more supported, less stressed, and genuinely proud of their creative output again.
For me, that’s the heart of my work: helping brands operationalize their marketing and creative strategies in a way that not only drives results but also creates space for teams to do their best work. I want my clients to feel confident, empowered, and clear — with systems that support their growth and people who feel energized, not exhausted, by their roles.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a marketing and creative operations consultant with over 15 years of experience working with DTC and B2B brands to streamline execution, launch campaigns, and operationalize strategic marketing, creative, and business strategies. I specialize in building and optimizing internal marketing systems, creative workflows, and cross-functional processes that help brands operate more efficiently and deliver impactful results.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in-house and as a consultant for global lifestyle brands including Michael Kors, Rugs USA, DVF, One Kings Lane, Stark Carpet, Ashley Stark Home, duPont Registry, and SOMO | Sotheby’s Motorsport.
My background is rooted in the arts — I’m classically trained in fine art and studied History of Art in college. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, storytelling, and visual culture, which naturally led me to gravitate toward design-led brands and businesses in the luxury lifestyle space. I’m also a lifelong collector of antique and vintage home decor and jewelry, and have spent years immersing myself in the details of design history and decorative arts.
This background shapes everything about how I approach operations — with a keen sensitivity to aesthetic integrity, brand identity, and the nuances of working inside visually driven companies. I understand the balance creative teams need to do their best work, and I know how to build the systems that support their process without stifling it.
My core expertise lies in luxury marketing and operations, particularly in the home decor and fashion industries — though my work also extends to automotive, hospitality, real estate, travel, beauty, and health and wellness. Whether supporting a product launch, a seasonal campaign, or a full team reorganization, I act as a hands-on, strategic partner to help internal teams improve performance, reduce friction, and scale sustainably.
Clients often describe me as a “Marketing Chief of Staff” — someone who bridges the gap between marketing strategy and day-to-day execution. I offer services such as campaign planning and rollout, workflow optimization, briefing systems, cross-functional project management, creative production processes, and marketing team infrastructure development.
What sets me apart from other consultants is my highly customized, immersive approach. I work closely with leadership and internal teams to deeply understand how the organization functions and what’s holding them back — then build systems and solutions that actually stick. My goal is always to make my clients’ lives easier, their processes smarter, and their teams more empowered.
What I’m most proud of is not just helping brands reach their business goals, but building trust with the teams behind them. Time and time again, clients share how my approach helped them reduce stress, gain clarity, and actually enjoy their creative work again. For any business — especially in the luxury lifestyle space — looking for a marketing operations consultant who can turn big ideas into executable plans, I bring the structure, strategy, and hands-on partnership needed to scale with confidence.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Keeping in touch with clients and fostering brand loyalty goes far beyond delivering great work — it’s about building lasting partnerships rooted in trust, value, and proactive communication.
I prioritize staying connected with clients throughout and beyond our engagements. Whether it’s regular check-ins, strategic updates, or informal catch-ups, I make it a point to maintain open lines of communication. This consistent outreach shows clients that I’m genuinely invested in their ongoing success — not just when a project is active.
Every brand I work with is unique, so I tailor my approach to each client’s goals, communication style, and business needs. By aligning with their vision and adapting to their evolving priorities, I become a strategic partner they can rely on. I also focus on providing value beyond the immediate scope of work. That might mean sharing relevant industry insights, recommending tools or vendors, flagging potential risks, or offering guidance on how to operationalize marketing strategies for long-term impact. These thoughtful touches demonstrate my commitment to helping their business grow sustainably.
Trust and transparency are foundational. I’m honest about timelines, challenges, and expectations — and clients consistently share that they value this direct, dependable approach. I also make space to celebrate wins, whether it’s a successful campaign launch or a milestone moment for their team. Recognition reinforces a shared sense of achievement and deepens the relationship.
Over time, this approach has helped me turn first-time projects into ongoing collaborations. My goal is always to be seen not just as a consultant, but as a trusted extension of the client’s team — someone who understands their business, supports their vision, and makes their life easier at every stage.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale comes down to building a culture of clarity, trust, and support. Whether you’re leading a marketing team, a creative department, or a cross-functional group, the same core principles apply.
Start with transparent communication. Be clear about goals, timelines, and expectations from the beginning. When team members understand how their work contributes to the broader strategy, they feel more empowered and invested in outcomes.
Foster an environment where people feel safe to share feedback, ideas, and challenges. Regular one-on-ones and team check-ins help identify issues early, strengthen relationships, and keep everyone aligned.
Recognition is also key. Celebrating wins — whether it’s a successful campaign launch or a small process improvement — builds momentum and reminds people that their contributions matter.
To maintain long-term engagement, offer opportunities for growth and development. This might include stretching into new responsibilities, exploring different types of projects, or receiving mentorship and coaching. Teams are most motivated when they see a path forward in their careers.
Promote work-life balance by encouraging realistic workloads, respecting boundaries, and modeling sustainable work habits. Burnout doesn’t just impact individuals — it affects collaboration, creativity, and results.
Lead with empathy and adaptability. Take the time to understand each person’s work style, goals, and stressors. When people feel seen and supported, they’re more likely to stay motivated, collaborative, and loyal.
Finally, empower your team by giving them ownership. Autonomy fosters trust and accountability — and often leads to more innovative, effective outcomes.
By creating a culture rooted in respect, open communication, and shared purpose, you not only boost morale but also build high-performing teams that are motivated, aligned, and energized to grow alongside your business.
