We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexis Fernandez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexis below.
Alexis , appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
We’re all about creating magical moments that turn into unforgettable memories. Our legacy? We hope people will remember us as the company that brought people together with a sprinkle of fun, a dash of creativity, and a whole lot of joy. Whether it’s a cozy sleepover or a picture-perfect picnic, we want to be known for crafting spaces where laughter, connection, and relaxation come to life. When we’re gone, we hope people will look back and say, “That’s the company that made life a little brighter, a little more fun, and a whole lot more memorable.” Our goal is simple—spread joy, create connections, and leave behind memories that last a lifetime! Core memories are locked in!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We’re a passionate event rental company that specializes in turning everyday moments into extraordinary memories. We focus on two main things: sleepovers and picnics, but we do them in a way that’s designed to create magic and leave lasting impressions. Our journey started with the simple idea of bringing people together in the most fun, memorable ways possible—whether it’s a cozy, themed sleepover or a beautifully styled picnic. We quickly realized that these gatherings create core memories that help people get through life by reminding them of the joy in small, meaningful moments.
What sets us apart is the attention to detail and the personal touch we bring to each event. We’re not just setting up a space; we’re creating an experience. We handle everything—furnishings, decor, setup, and cleanup—so our clients can focus on enjoying their time together without the stress. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, a special occasion, or just enjoying some time with friends and family, we take care of everything so you don’t have to.
What we’re most proud of is the positive feedback we get from our clients. Knowing that we helped create a moment that people will cherish for years is incredibly rewarding. Above all, we want potential clients to know that when they book with us, they’re not just getting an event—they’re getting a stress-free, personalized experience that’s designed to create memories that’ll last a lifetime. Let us take care of the details so you can focus on the good times!
How’d you meet your business partner?
Well, this is an easy one! I’ve known my cofounder—my mom—since, well, I was born! But our business partnership story is a bit more fun than that. As the visionary and creative one, I (Alexis) was always coming up with ideas to make things extra special—whether it was for a family event or a small get-together. My mom, Susan, was always the one making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes—organizing, cleaning, and making sure I didn’t forget anything important (which, let’s be real, happens often!).
One day, we realized we made a pretty great team. I had the big ideas and the creativity, and she had the organizational skills and attention to detail that kept everything in check. That’s when the light bulb went off: why not combine our strengths and start a business together? We both wanted to help people create magical, lasting memories, and what better way to do that than combining my passion for design with her knack for making everything run seamlessly? And so, our event rental company was born!
It’s been an incredible journey working together. She’s my grounding force, keeping me on track when my head is in the clouds, and I like to think I keep things fun and full of fresh ideas. Together, we make a great team, and it’s been amazing turning our shared love for creating special moments into something that brings joy to others!
Let’s talk M&A – we’d love to hear your about your experience with buying businesses.
Yes, I’ve had the unique experience of buying a business! It all started when I was helping a friend sell her home. Over the years, I had also helped her create a website for her event rental company, which specializes in sleepovers and picnics. While we were in the process of selling her house, she shared with me that she needed to part with her business. She was going back to work full-time for an airline company, and her back problems were making it difficult for her to continue running the business.
I instantly saw an opportunity and shared the idea with my mom. My dad thought we were crazy, but I was passionate about it and believed in the potential of the business. So, I took the leap, sold her house, and bought her business!
The acquisition process was a bit of a whirlwind. I already had a strong understanding of the business since I had helped create the website and was familiar with how things ran. This made the transition smoother than it might have been otherwise. Two years later, we’re still going strong, and I’m so glad I took the chance! The experience has taught me a lot about business ownership and the importance of seeing opportunities in unexpected places.
