We recently connected with Alexis Faille and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Working in the wedding industry, every weekend is a meaningful project. Providing my craft in the form of flowers for couples on their most important day is the greatest reward. I really do love love and love my work.
The bridal bouquet is the first task done when working on a wedding. It sets the tone for the entire rest of the florals for the event. A lot of thought, intuition, love and process goes into that bridal bouquet. When I arrive at the venue with that bridal bouquet in hand and deliver it to the bride I have hopes that they see that bouquet and feel truly “seen” by their florist and vendor. I have made an investment into their love that is translated into flowers. Watching the rest of their wedding day unfold and sharing moments of laughter, tears of joy and friends and family moments shared – those memories last a lifetime.
I am truly blessed to celebrate love every single weekend.
Alexis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Alexis, the owner and designer at Parsley & Valentine Florals! Parsley & Valentine was born out of a passion for nature and creativity. We have evolved a lot over the course of 4 years in business, and love every minute of weddings, events and creative floral design. Interesting color combinations, heavy textures and unexpected ingredients are our jam!
Designing florals for a wedding can sometimes bring the whole vision to life. Your florist is important because we bring color and texture to any space lacking, we sometimes set the entire color scheme based off of your vibe, and we wear a lot of design hats day-of wedding to help bring the whole day together!
An extensive knowledge of all flowers, greenery and other ingredients sets us apart from other florists. We truly are the experts and have put the hours in to say so. We have build trusted relationships with our sources in order to provide an incredibly unique and beautiful floral experience.
The newest sister brand to Parsley & Valentine is our flower preservation adventure. The Parsley Press takes your bridal bouquet or florals from your wedding and hand-presses the blooms. Those blooms get arranged to mimic the original bouquet’s shape all wrapped up in a float frame. A modern take on flower preservation. We also love working on memorial pieces, garden re-creation frames or just because gifts. Pressed flowers are trending on wedding cakes and we also love to provide an array within color scheme for those tasty cakes!
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I learn something new every day being in business for myself. It’s a constant journey of new tools discovered and new connections made. There are so many resources out there for entrepreneurs and business owners. I wish I had all those resources when I first started Parsley & Valentine, but it’s been a humbling process slowly reaching towards all those resources. I imagine I will only learn more and more as I grow with Parsley & Valentine!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media is another resource that has been a constant build. In truth, I probably wouldn’t have any social media (personally) if it wasn’t for my business. Socials are VITAL to growing and reaching my ideal clients. I was lucky enough to have an incredible business coach – Nicole Renee Coaching for a few months who helped me comb through the dead weight, fine tune my message and create an overall visually appealing website and instagram feed. I went from just a few followers to over 1k in just a couple months! There has been a direct correlation between better looking socials and the amount of revenue coming in.
