We were lucky to catch up with Alexis Evans recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Alexis thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How do you think about cost-management? Growing a business is always exciting, but often businesses run into issues when costs grow faster than revenue – have you experienced such an episode? Any advice for other operators around how to keep costs in line?
Currently I run my business completely mobile. With this my costs are extremely low. Only monthly expense I have is gas, massage oil, and sheets. What a way to save money!

Alexis , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Alexis Evans. I am a US Navy veteran and a Certified nurse’s aide, who also holds licenses as an Esthetician & Massage Therapist. I’ve been in the wellness industry for 10 years, and my gift is touch therapy. Imagine a mobile massage business that cares for your health and overall wellbeing. That’s where Tha Wellness Jawn comes in.
We offer convenient massages that help people relax—but also help our target customer rehabilitate from injuries, illnesses and find relief from chronic pain. We all deserve to get what we need without having to disrupt our schedule or routine Tha Wellness Jawns’ mission is to serve people by offering convenient ways of healing themselves by having massages on demand.
We give you the chance to get more rest by staying home, cutting out the need for the spa and it eliminates the need for travel— so no Houston traffic! We offer a range of massages, including relaxation, deep-tissue and prenatal. We also offer chair massages at private events, health fairs and networking events
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Tha Wellness Jawn has gone through a complete transformation since 2021. We’re now mobile and able to serve more of the Houston community Because of that, we have saved 10k in rent alone—money that allows us to devote it elsewhere such as marketing. With the pivot, profits have gone up by 2.2 percent.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe that touch, when used in a therapeutic setting, has the power to heal and make people feel more comfortable. In many places I visited, there were not enough wellness providers for all the people who needed them. In 2014 I took the plunge and started my career in health and wellness, where, to my surprise, I’ve found true love.
