We recently connected with Alexis Driver and have shared our conversation below.
Alexis , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Having a business, while also being a first generation business owner has its ups and downs. A lot of times you may not feel like your getting the proper support you would like from family or peers but it’s shouldn’t stop you from accomplishing your dreams and aspirations! It is good to ask for opinions and ideas but I feel like it’s always key to be sure to follow YOUR first mind as well because you know what best suits you. I’m always sure to only keep the people around me who uplift and support me as well. It’s really important to keep those type of people around you who will understand if you have to switch a routine for a while because you have those goals. The right people will support you and the ones who don’t shouldn’t matter.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Ambishionbylexx was started in 2019. My main focus was a boutique with bags, lashes, phones case. Hair, & etc. Over time I started only focusing on sewing machine made wigs, and bundles. I plan to make Ambishion my brand and a lifestyle rather than just a hair company. I’ve always planned on becoming an entrepreneur and having something that I can have of my own. Thats something that will be achieved. I am also on a sales specialist for a billion dollar company, that I have over achieved in. Working in sales is something that I’m great at, especially with creating relationships with my guest, clients, and while networking. Both can be incorporated into one to continue to help build my brand.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Something that I had to unlearn was to actually take my time with things. Sometimes you really expect for your projects or goals to just happen. Or while building you business you’re not taking the proper steps and studies go actually know what you’re doing and do it the right way. That was my problem. I feel like if I was to be able to actually proper research or looked for more options and not just hoping and doing things, I wouldn’t have to go back and fix it.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think being personal able and always staying who I truly am helped me build my reputation. I’ve never tried to be like anyone else. I feel as though people take notice to that and are more intrigued by what you’re doing and who you are.
