Alright, Alexi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents have had such a profound impact on my life in such a positive way. They taught me nothing in life comes easy when nothing is handed to you. They taught me that putting in hard work and effort into something doesn’t always equate to success or the outcome you expected, but learning from your failures and how to overcome those failures is key. Patience and learning experiences will allow you to come out stronger in the end.
I know this may sound cliche, but they also taught me to never give up on anything. I think sometimes people want to throw in the towel when they experience any type of hardship in life. I have definitely felt that way with some challenges I have faced, but I think it’s important to embrace adversity and learn from it. I learned that sometimes you need to push yourself outside of your comfort zone in order to grow and evolve as a person. Having this knowledge in mind is what made me successful in multiple aspects of my life such as my career, life goals etc. My parents are my biggest supporters and they have always stood by my side!

Alexi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Alexi Contrata and I am a food content creator. I have always had a strong passion for food and grew up working in various restaurants in order to understand the dynamic of how restaurants operate. I learned what to do and what not to do when it comes to owning a restaurant as well as the obstacles you face when running a business in this industry. You have to have stellar food, impeccable service, an amazing ambiance and something that keeps customers coming back again and again. It may sound like an easy feat, but it ‘s more complex than you think. In short, it takes blood, sweat and tears to survive in the food service industry.
I always took pictures of my food and I had a camera roll of photos, but no where to share those photos with others. During Covid I decided to launch my own food Instagram in hopes to connect with other foodies and immerse myself into the foodie world. Creating my own food Instagram allowed me to share my photos with others along with my amazing dining experiences! I love to scout out new restaurant or trendy restaurants so I can share my content with my followers. My main focus is on luxury eats and I chose this area to differentiate my food content from others. My goal is to have my followers vicariously live through my food content! I want them to almost taste the lobster truffle mac n’ cheese through the screen! I take pride in the content I post and I am very particular when it comes to my content. I need good lighting, angles etc. and sometimes that can be tough in restaurants, but I always try my best to deliver great content for my followers.
Although, I love eating out for the ultimate dining experience I also like to cook. Sometimes you just need a home cooked meal! Overall, everybody needs to eat right? It’s a basic necessity in life and it’s the gateway to a persons heart so why not eat in style and just have fun with it!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My ultimate goal is to open up my own restaurant and have my own food brand. This is what drives my creative journey and pushes me to explore and research restaurants. Going to restaurants is what sparks my creativity and gives me ideas on how I plan to execute my business. I’m always aware of what my goals are and decipher whether or not my decisions are helping or hindering me to reach my goals. I know eventually I will reach my goal, but it takes time, effort and learning how to navigate along the way!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a food content creator is having restaurants or brands want to collaborate with me. Restaurants and brands choose to work with creators if they feel the creators craft aligns with theirs. This provides a benefit to both parties. I also find it rewarding when I get compliments on my content from other creators in the food community. I take any feedback into account positive or negative. I think it’s important to not have tunnel vision, but be open minded to new ideas and suggestions. When you learn you grow and knowledge is power!
