We were lucky to catch up with Alexandria Higgs recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alexandria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I have worked in the music industry for over 10 years. While my 9-5 is still in the industry, I recently decided to put a pause on my artist management firm. I was extremely burnout and no longer fulfilled. I created a podcast during the start of covid, shortly after I was laid off. I wrote out the entire concept, episodes, and scripts, and shelved it. I decided to dust it off after I closed my firm to tap into my creative flow while also inspiring other women entrepreneurs who may have been redirected or thinking of making a career change. I felt like a failure for stepping away from something I have spent my whole life studying and building for. I had to take a step back and take inventory of my accolades and realize this was not a failure but a mere redirection.

Alexandria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Words of a Warrior podcast is for women entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry. I share my personal stories as a black woman navigating the behind-the-scenes of the music industry. I provide solutions so someone else doesn’t make the same mistake I did. The goal of my podcast is to inspire other women to go forth in their careers confidently with the tools they need to achieve success. My podcast features other women i the industry that I sit down with to get their perspective.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I have a book in the works, and I ultimately would like to land my own book & speaking tour.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

My work ethic & transparency has helped me build my reputation. I put 100% into everything I do, and I work hard with integrity and honesty.
