Hi Alexandria, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
At Shen Generation, one of the most prominent trends we’ve observed over the last 5 years is the rising prevalence of severe gut health imbalances. We believe that a strong foundation for optimal and radiant health originates from a well-balanced gut. However, what we’re seeing is that many of us were predisposed from childhood. For example, growing up we mostly ate highly processed foods, normalized the constant use of antibiotics, and pushed ourselves to perform at an unsustainable rate forcing us to live in constant fight-or-flight.
This trend became increasingly apparent to us after one of our clients, social influencer, Alyssa Lynch began posting about her hormone journey. We eventually helped her regain her period after 8 years of Amenorrhea by addressing her body’s underlying issues beyond just the symptoms. By sharing her story, we were exposed to a concerning amount of women, mostly in their early 20s, all of whom regularly experience symptoms of thyroid dysfunction, IBS, BV, chronic fatigue, and mental health issues like depression and anxiety. The sequence of similar cases has caused us the shift our focus to address all these imbalances at the root. By offering effective treatment and lifestyle solutions we focus on educating people on how to rebalance their gut microbiome naturally to support the body to self-correct its imbalances.
Alexandria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From a young age, I’ve been driven to create things that evoke emotion, particularly through visual expression. I studied Multimedia Design and spent the first few years of my professional career helping others develop their ideas into successful brands. In 2017, I fully immersed myself in the health and wellness industry after joining on full-time at a holistic health clinic in Venice. This turbulent but ultimately enriching experience taught me the essentials of entrepreneurship and revealed the value of visual communication when sharing the intricacies of authentic success.
During this time, I met my now partner Brian who shares a deep commitment to inspiring positive change in people’s lives and a vision for a lifestyle that breaks the mold. That’s when Shen Generation came to life. Four years later, we’ve nurtured a truly wonderful community of meaningful relationships that are propelling our company into an exciting new phase of maturity. I’m eagerly looking forward to the upcoming year, as we’ve begun expanding our team. We’re also currently constructing a larger space that we hope will inspire awareness and healthy behavioral change in a modern-day lifestyle. We’re being especially intentional when designing the space, to showcase the land around us while finding the balance between aesthetics and functionality.
When people come in to see us, they show up ready to make the changes to become a better version of themselves. We have the privilege to receive that energy and illuminate the way. As Shen Generation continues to evolve, even in ways I can’t yet forsee, one thing is for sure – our purpose is always about making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The most valuable source of new clients, hands down, is through client referrals. When we provide our services, we not only address their specific needs, we’re becoming well-acquainted with their personal journey and the people who play a pivotal role in their lives. It’s through these meaningful interactions that we consistently find ourselves connecting with their inner circles.
The quality of client referrals stems from the impact we make on someone’s life. When we help someone make a change, that transformation is like a ripple effect that radiates from them and affects those closest to them. Our ultimate goal when working with clients is to empower them to create positive changes within themselves and, in turn, within their communities and networks.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
When we work with someone, it’s not just a business transaction – it’s a connection built on trust and respect. This intention forms the foundation of a natural, authentic bond that we develop with our clients, one that extends beyond a typical business relationship. At our core, we consider our clients as part of our extended family, and we aspire to create an environment where they feel safe to be their true selves.
In terms of practical methods for staying connected, we prioritize an open communication channel. We don’t want our clients to rely solely on our treatments; we want to empower them with the knowledge and tools to lead healthier lives on their own. Since we can’t see them every day, we use platforms like Instagram and email to stay in touch, share tips, and keep that dialogue alive. These channels allow us to maintain an ongoing dialogue, provide support, and ensure that our clients remain connected to us. It’s like keeping up with old friends, even when we’re not in the same room.
