We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexandre Di Pasquale. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexandre below.
Alexandre, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I first knew I wanted to pursue music professionally back in high school. I started playing drums when I was 14, and from the beginning I threw myself fully into it. Teaching myself how to read and write music and playing with several local bands. Those years gave me the spark that confirmed this was more than just a passion.

Alexandre, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I first got into drumming when I was 14, almost by accident. I was at a party, saw a drum set, and decided to give it a try. From that moment on, I was hooked—I knew I had found something I couldn’t walk away from. During high school I immersed myself in music: teaching myself how to read and write it, and playing with as many local bands as I could. That’s really when I knew I wanted to make music my life.
After graduating, I decided to take it further and study music seriously. I spent two years in southern France, where I’m from, before moving to the United States to study at Southern Utah University and later at Citrus College in California. Leaving home at such a young age to pursue music was a huge decision, but it shaped me both as a person and as a musician. When I eventually returned home, I felt ready to begin my career.
Since then, I’ve built a path that combines performance, creativity, and teaching. As a live drummer, I play with different bands when they need a substitute or touring musician. In the studio, I record drum tracks and also co-produce songs for independent artists and bands around the world. I’ve also been teaching drums since I was 21, in schools, at my home studio, and online. Teaching has been just as rewarding as performing, and I’m grateful for all the students who have trusted me to share my knowledge with them. More recently, I joined a brand new alternative/emo rock project called Subtitles. with my friend and lead singer, Jake Obermiller, which has been an exciting new chapter for me.
What I always try to bring to every project, whether I’m playing live, in the studio, or teaching, is passion, energy, and commitment. I’m constantly striving to grow, take on new challenges, and use that drive not only for myself but also for the benefit of the people I work with.
Looking back, I’m proud of having taken the leap to study music abroad and dedicate myself fully to this path. Today, I’m proud to be a busy entrepreneur and musician, working with respected artists and producers, and above all, proud of my students, whose progress continues to inspire me. Music has given me so much, and being able to give back, whether through performing, recording, or teaching, is what motivates me every day.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A big pivot in my life came in 2022. I had just returned from the U.S., where I had spent three months working on an album project, but when I got home, things were very slow with my career. I was feeling pretty down and unsure of where to go next. Around that time, a friend offered me a job as a tech in a production and staging company. At first, it was tough for me to accept. I had worked so hard to be the musician on stage, and now I was behind the scenes, working as a backliner for other artists. The first year was rough I felt a bit lost compared to the goals I had set for myself.
But instead of walking away, I decided to commit fully to the job, and things quickly changed. I grew into new roles, first becoming a stage manager, then a technical director at a venue in the south of France, and later taking on responsibilities as conductor and technical director for festivals and events. Looking back, that experience gave me a whole new perspective. Working behind the scenes showed me another side of the music industry and helped me understand what it really takes to succeed. Today, it’s another hat I proudly wear in my career, and I see it as something that continues to shape and strengthen my path as a musician.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the connection it creates with people. Music has the power to touch hearts, to help someone through their struggles, and to make them feel part of a community where they are secure and heard. I love the idea that a song or a performance can mark a moment in time, even a generation, and become part of someone’s personal story. Beyond that, one of the greatest rewards is inspiring others to create. If something I do motivates someone else to pick up an instrument, write, or express themselves artistically, then I feel like I’ve made a meaningful impact.
