Alexandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
The power in networking! I believe your ability to connect with people can have a huge impact in your success. The most connected people are often the most successful in my opinion. When you invest in your relationships — professional and personal — it can pay you back in dividends throughout your career.
I am very passionate about the power in networking and how it can help transform your career. I would not be where I am today without mastering the art of networking. That is exactly why I decided to write The Power of Networking! My goal is to teach others the importance of making high-level connections that will last a lifetime.
Networking is about getting people to embrace your brand. Your brand is how you make people feel while doing business with you. Your connections ultimately become your brand ambassadors. They buy into your vision and what you represent and they sell it. These are the people that will cheer for you and speak positively about you when your name comes up.
Alexandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always had a natural ability to connect with people and make connections. The title “Networking Queen” fits me well and I own it!
My passion is truly to inspire people to become the best in their industry. With over twenty years working in Marketing, Sales, and Business Development, I’ve developed tremendous skills in growing and building my relationships. I have decades of high-level corporate marketing experience, along with an innate ability to help business leaders tap into their real strengths and abilities.
My hands-on experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and innate coaching ability led me to become the founder and CEO of Xandra Marketing & PR Firm and to write my forthcoming book, The Power of Networking. My goal is to guide people toward their full potential.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My ability to connect with others and show up as my true self. Being authentic is an important part of your brand. People want to do business with honest people and that all begins with you. Always do what you say you’re going to do. I also believe you have to have GRIT! The courage to put yourself out there first so you can build the confidence needed to keep showing up. The best advice I give to those that are struggling with networking is “Show up Scared” because if you keep showing up scared you will eventually stop being scared! Just keep showing up..
It’s never too early — or too late — to invest in your network. The best way to improve your networking skills is to put yourself out there and give it a try! Your network is your net worth.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The two Q’s!
Quality over Quantity! In Marketing, Business Development, and Sales you are told that you have to meet as many people as possible to help you generate more opportunities and gain more customers.
It’s a “numbers game” they say…
As I grew in my professional career, I realized that it’s the opposite. That quality of your connections is always better than chasing for the quantity. Think about this? What is the point of having all those business cards that you’ve collected sitting on your desk if you have no relationship with those contacts? It’s more important to build high-level connections that will help you reap the rewards of getting new and ongoing business. In my book, The Power of Networking, we talk about how networking is not only about trading information, but also serves as an avenue to create long-term relationships with mutual benefits.
