Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexandra Del Rio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexandra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our mission is to bring you the most sought after trends at a reasonable price. We hand-pick all of our merchandise and only bring a few pieces of each style, making it exclusive and unique amongst your friends. We are known for having a keen eye for finding unique pieces of clothing, one of a kind jewelry & superb customer service.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Alexandra opened Koket Boutique in 2016 when the stresses of the corporate world had taken a toll on her and she yearned for a creative outlet. Fashion always had her heart and while shopping, her go-to stress reliever, she noticed that there wasn’t a lot of fashion that spoke to her. And that is how a dream was started.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Being authentic, approachable, honest and we take pride for our superb customer service. Most women don’t shop because they want to, they shop because they have to. They have a special event, date night , GNO and they want to buy a cute outfit or accessories or both. I take pride in the community we have built based on honesty and authenticity. Just show up as you are… We are a Judgment free zone!
Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
Well let me tell you about this one, In 2022, i went for the 1st time to the Dallas Market and lost my mind there. I’d been to big apparel markets such as Magic, Atlanta & Las Vegas Apparel but this one was different. We had hundreds and hundreds of vendors that I had never seen and lost sight of the budget and shopped, shopped, shopped till my AMEX caught fire. I feel like that 1st quarter in 2022 was very stressful as I had OVER spent by thousands and and I was constantly worried about my credit card bill. I definitely shopped for the shop that I wanted to become but I wasn’t being realistic for where I was at the time. I will get there (manifested) but I learned a good lesson on our way out of the AMEX credit card bill. Unfortunately the AMEX bill overshadowed the success i was experiencing. It was a record- breaking year for me that was tempered by my stress about over spending. Lesson learn, don’t go to market without a firm budget!
