Alright, Alexandra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At LUMA, our mission goes beyond simply introducing people—we’re dedicated to fostering meaningful, lasting connections that enrich lives. We believe that human connection is at the core of happiness, and in a fast-paced, digital world, finding genuine love can be challenging.
My mission is deeply personal because we’ve seen firsthand how the right relationship can transform someone’s life. Seeing our clients find their perfect match and build fulfilling relationships fuels our work every day. It’s not just about matching people based on data—it’s about truly understanding their values, aspirations, and unique qualities to create connections that matter. I love working with people and helping others. There’s nothing more fulfilling than guiding someone on their journey to finding a meaningful relationship.
Beyond matchmaking, I also support LUMA in the administrative side of things, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. I love assisting the team with anything they need, making sure our processes are efficient and organized, and contributing to the success of our mission. Whether it’s coordinating operations or providing support, I take pride in helping our team deliver the best experience for our clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My journey has always been centered around people. I’m a business administrator by profession, and my career started when I was working in customer service when I was still in college. I quickly realized how much I loved helping others daily. After a year and after graduating from college, this passion led me to the world of recruitment and HR, where I spent years working in a Fortune 500 company, managing full-cycle recruiting across various departments like HR, Marketing, Finance, Corporate, and Customer Service.
Recruitment was more than just filling positions—it was about changing lives. I made it a point to treat every candidate with respect, offering honest feedback, guidance, and long-term career support. Many of the professionals I placed are still keeping in touch with me, and I take pride in knowing that I played a role in their success.
Now, I’ve taken my expertise into the matchmaking industry, where I essentially work similarly to an Executive Recruiter, but for people’s love lives.
Working with LUMA has opened my eyes to a whole new way of making meaningful connections. While my primary role is ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes, I also actively source and connect singles, using my network to find high-quality matches for our clients.
I love building genuine relationships and creating trust, whether in career placements or personal matchmaking. I don’t see people as just numbers—I see them as individuals with unique stories, goals, and desires. The most rewarding part of my job is hearing feedback after a date, how it went, what they liked or didn’t, or if they have for seeing each other again! Knowing that I helped create a potential love story, it’s very rewarding and fulfilling.
At the end of the day, my mission has always been about bringing people together—whether for their careers or their hearts. Matchmaking has made me realize all my previous experiences are similar and have one thing in common—helping others is my mission.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
At LUMA, I’m responsible for overseeing recruitment and onboarding for new hires. When I started working, our training processes were extensive and a little overwhelming for them.
One of the biggest hurdles was handling the frustration of employees who were overwhelmed by the training. We saw how this was affecting us as these new hires took a lot of time in training sessions, so instead of just focusing on operations, April and I streamlined internal processes, improved communication between departments, and made sure that every team member had the support they needed to stay engaged. I also worked closely with leadership to advocate for employees, ensuring they had the resources to navigate the transition.
Despite the challenges, I remained adaptable, solution-driven, and committed to keeping things running smoothly. Over time, we improved our processes and many of the systems I put in place became permanent improvements. Looking back, that experience reinforced what I now apply in my role at LUMA—staying calm under pressure, adapting to change, and ensuring that both people and processes work harmoniously together. Whether in business operations or matchmaking, resilience is about navigating uncertainty with confidence and always finding a way forward.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Early in my recruitment career, HR professionals were facing a lot of layoffs and I worked with many highly qualified candidates who were unemployed for months or even a year and were struggling to find a new role. It was a tough market, a lot of competition and hundreds of candidates applying for the same job.
Despite the challenges, I always made it a priority to support my candidates beyond just submitting their resumes. I took the time to coach them on how to improve their interview skills, helping them refine their storytelling and understand exactly what hiring managers were looking for. By offering honest feedback and actionable advice, I empowered them to present themselves in the best way possible.
I stayed in touch with many candidates, offering guidance, sharing relevant opportunities, and keeping them informed and this is what helped build my network. Now, in the matchmaking industry, I apply the same principles by providing value, whether it’s career advice, or even dating insights. My reputation is built on genuine care, trust, and a commitment to helping people succeed in both their professional and personal lives.
