Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexandra. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Like many, I followed the familiar choreography of adulthood, earning my degree, stepping into the workforce, and mastering the careful dance of corporate life. For fifteen years, I built my foundation in instructional design and creative leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams, nurturing relationships, and shepherding projects both large and small. On the surface, I was thriving. Yet beneath each accomplishment, a quieter current moved within me, a deep-seated sense that I was meant for something more, a calling that reached beyond standard roles or the span of a single life.
One thing I have always known is that we are never separate from the natural world, our lives unfold in an ongoing relationship with it, and duality is always present. During those years, I began to sense how our presence, often subtle and unseen, shapes the spaces and people around us in lasting ways. The workplace became both crucible and classroom; it taught me that true creativity flourishes not under tight control, but in our willingness to embrace uncertainty and let both light and shadow inform us. Sketches and ideas would bloom at the edge of meetings, offering glimpses of what would become Flutura Creative. My grandmother’s loving nickname, “butterfly,” found its place beside the sparkling image of a disco ball, a symbol of our multiplicity and the unique light each of us reflects.
When life shifted, through a layoff during the global pause of 2020, and the rare quiet that followed, I was finally able to listen. Rooted once again, I felt called to serve as a keeper of lineage and a bridge for ancestral wisdom. I’ve learned that time in solitude and nature isn’t about withdrawing from the world, but restoring connection; it’s a space where I am able to metabolize empathy into strength and compassion, where nothing needs hiding, and where deep listening becomes possible.
My sense of purpose has never been just about individual milestones, but about tending a vision that grows beyond my own horizon. In Flutura Creative, I live this calling by holding space for somatic exploration, supporting others in trusting their embodied wisdom, and cultivating belonging. I invite each person to contribute their own thread to the collective tapestry of life. The work isn’t about having all the answers, but about making room for open-hearted questions and honoring the magic that emerges as we grow comfortable with complexity, the dance between connection and solitude, and the interplay of light and shadow that is always present.
Flutura Creative is more than a business; it’s a living, breathing artistry, an ongoing invitation. It is the joyful manifestation of my heart’s devotion: a disco ball catching the sunlight, a butterfly carried on the breeze, an open call for others to rediscover their power to navigate life’s journey, one embodied step at a time.

Alexandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From the Body, For the Soul: The Story of Flutura Creative
I am a storyteller, creative director, and Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist (RSME/T), devoted to weaving embodied narrative and expressive arts throughout every offering. Greetings, I’m Alexandra Granato-Garcia—lineage keeper and founder of Flutura Creative, rooted on the ancestral lands of Yanaguana, where spirit waters nourish the heart of San Antonio, Texas.
For me, keeping lineage means tuning in to the quiet wisdom carried in our bones and honoring the threads that weave us to our ancestors and the earth. This devotion shapes my somatic arts practice and forms the heart of Flutura Creative, which is rooted in Indigenous heritage, grounded in reciprocity, and moved by reverence for nature as our first teacher.
Before I had even named it, Flutura Creative became the living thread weaving through every chapter of my story. Story is the way my lineage speaks, its pulse carried forward through every encounter and teaching. It is the fabric that holds humanity together, and that’s why it is central to my life’s mission. This work is a sacred responsibility that I tend to with great reverence, and it is a true honor to walk alongside all those who join me in co-creation.
My journey began at the Texas-Mexico border, where each year the monarch butterflies would return in waves of orange and gold. Witnessing their migration was a core memory of my childhood; their arrival was pure magic, an invitation into awe that etched itself into my bones. That annual homecoming was my first imprint of the power of wonder and curiosity, showing me how following what inspires us can open pathways to transformation. The monarchs became my quiet teachers, embodying resilience and continual renewal, reminding me that change is not just possible, but natural and necessary for growth.
My studies in Communication and Dance at Texas A&M revealed the aliveness of heart-centered storytelling and creativity embodied in motion. Grief has a way of bringing you straight to your heart’s truth if you can listen to the whispers. When my father passed during my somatic studies, I discovered firsthand how the body can hold both grief and grace. Time spent alone with the wild showed me that solitude in nature can be a necessary space for deep healing and new insight to emerge.
Fifteen years immersed in corporate settings taught me the subtleties of influence, the impact of a steady presence, and the importance of attuning to relationship and environment, even in places that can feel disconnected. Yet the embodied whispers of my heart called me toward deeper service, one shaped not by convention but by a longing for meaning and collective care. The moment of unexpected layoff became an initiation, inviting me to return to my roots, to guide and create, embracing a purpose rooted in legacy, something far larger than any personal achievement. Flutura Creative was there all along, animating each turn and new beginning.
I guide The Art of Somatic Living through 1:1 Somatic Mentorship, group facilitation, creative direction, and embodied leadership. My approach, which I call Values-Led Creativity, draws inspiration from the image of a disco ball: each person reflects beauty through every facet of joy, sorrow, and unique gifting, forming a larger mosaic. Storytelling, as a lineage connection, is at the heart of every offering, fueled by evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities such as Shin Somatics® and Rooted BodyBased™ practices, woven together with ancestral wisdom and nature’s teachings. Bridging soma (body), psyche (mind), and soul (heart), I invite others into spaces where self-inquiry and creative discovery are welcomed as vital rites of belonging.
This practice is not just about individual growth; it’s about honoring the collective, fostering trust, and tending to creative futures that encompass community and the greater web of life. Whether through outdoor movement, systems thinking, or shared storytelling, I hold space for others to renew physiological patterns, rebuild self-trust, and transform inspiration into tangible form. Ponderings & Wanderings, my weekly newsletter, shares stories and somatic practices to spark lasting change, and I look forward to my big dream of nurturing a plot of land with a treehouse studio that is a sanctuary where creative possibilities take root.
You belong here. Your presence matters in this living web. Whatever stirs in you is meaningful; it can fuel your own creative journey. Trust that the answers you seek are already alive within your body and spirit. I am devoted to walking beside you, holding the sacred responsibility of this work with care and reverence. Together, we remember. Together, we create a more united world.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy for growing and nourishing my clients is staying radically authentic. This means showing up in my fullness as a deep-feeler, attuned to the intricate interconnectedness that binds all life. Growth, for me, is rooted in the willingness to lean into the fear of being misunderstood, trusting that the honesty and depth of my soul-level work speaks directly to those who are ready.
This approach extends into the heart of my practice: I offer experiences that reach a space within the body that is the sacred matter before language, a realm where healing and creativity spring directly from their source. Growth is not a straight path. The journey is cyclical, shaped just as much by shadow as by light. Each season of uncertainty becomes an invitation to reimagine, to let go of old forms, and to reinvent my work with fresh curiosity and deeper integrity.
Nature continues to be an unparalleled muse and guide, offering both a scientific and spiritual lens through which we curiously explore the depths and wonder of our being. Time in the wilderness has always been essential, allowing me to process the tenderness I hold for others and to replenish my own creative energy. In nature’s quiet space, I find the clarity and inspiration that reveal what is most real, returning me to that enduring partnership with the natural world and with my own inner truth.
In the early days of entrepreneurship, this dance with nature and authenticity was challenging. Experimentation became my compass, and over time, I learned to embrace it and be transparent with clients about the process. While I am always grounded in a clear framework for each journey, I ultimately trust my intuition and embodied wisdom to bring forth what is needed in the moment.
When I facilitate, I do not arrive with all the answers. Instead, I create an environment where trusting exploration and compassionate questioning can unfold. Each session is a wholehearted co-creation with participants, honoring the uniqueness of every gathering and meeting each person where they are. My role is to walk alongside others, holding space for discovery, inquiry, and the courage to follow what wants to emerge.
What guides me, always, is a devotion to something greater than any individual outcome. Every interaction is both an offering and a seed, planted in living soil that sustains not only our own flourishing but also weaves all of our experiences into a larger story of belonging and evolution. In this way, the somatic arts become a return, for myself and for others, to creative freedom and a deep, grounded connection in the ever-unfolding web of life.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Your body is a living legacy, a magnetic field of presence and possibility, shaped by the nuanced wisdom of generations and the promise of what’s still unfolding. I first awakened to this truth through the fire of loss. At nineteen, just as my somatic journey was beginning, the passing of my father left me at a crossroads: I could slip into the familiar current of inherited grief, or trust that even the darkest seasons hide seeds of creative renewal. I chose instead to become an interrupter, someone who listens for the subtle invitations of life’s creative process, even when clarity feels far away.
On my mother’s side, threads of loss and longing have woven a family story marked by abandonment and the echoes of generational heartache. From my father’s line came the example of public service, and a gentle kind of empathy that tuned into the needs of others with quiet strength. From both sides, I learned that resilience is forged as much in solitude as in connection. Nature became my sanctuary, a place to retreat, metabolize emotion, and replenish my spirit. Out there, the creative spark would reignite, and inner complexity could unravel into new understanding.
Over the years, I’ve realized that resilience is never just personal; it’s deeply collective. The quiet influence of our actions, the way we show up with clarity and compassion, radiates outward far beyond what we can see. My path is anchored in service, not just to myself, but to the dreams, questions, and longings carried by those who came before and those yet to come. Through my somatic arts practice, Flutura Creative, my listening hands and steady presence create a container where we can question what we’ve inherited, welcome heart-led inquiry, and gently explore new directions together.
Choosing to work with me is stepping into a living experiment: a co-creative journey between your own embodied wisdom and our shared, evolving vision. Together, we clarify intention, draw forth the gifts of your ancestry, and become architects of resilience for a future that reaches beyond our own lifetimes. This is an invitation to honor the story written in your bones, to imagine courageously, and to plant seeds that will feed a more generous tomorrow. You are both the echo and the answer, a vital thread in the weaving of our collective humanity.
