Alexander, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?

One of the biggest challenges in the photography industry, especially starting off, is getting work. Nowadays, anyone can pick up a camera and start taking photos, and there are a ton of competition out there now. Getting your name out there and differentiating yourself from others can be proven to be quite difficult. When I first started my business, I started by photographing close friend’s senior portraits in high school which generate a steady amount of income. However, I eventually hit a wall where I no longer had friends who were graduating from high school and needed photos leaving me with less work. I would, however, get some work here and there from references. Having consistent work has still been difficult, and with only certain periods of the year being busy profits can be challenging.

Alexander, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hi! My name is Alex Nguyen and I run my own photography company Alx Motions that I started when I was 17. I mostly shoot portraits such as senior photos, family photos, and more. However, I want to start moving into selling my prints of landscapes of the many places I have traveled around the world. I have had the lucky opportunity to travel to many different countries and places such as Iceland and soon Japan. These countries are full of beautiful landscapes and I hope to be able to sell large prints of it to an audience one day. For now though, I am proud to be able to work with a multitude of people to deliver photos that will lasting memories. I am most proud of the amount of passion I have for my work and my want to share to my clients as well. As a young entrepreneur, I work hard with others to be able to deliver service that exceed their expectation while also chasing my dream to be a full time travel photographer.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

The world has so much to offer, with different landscapes and cultures to experience I want to be able to experience it all. From the busy cityscapes of New York to the surreal landscapes of Iceland, I want to be able to travel full time for photography. Being able to experience the world is what is driving me on my creative journey, to be able to experience different cultures and see different areas of the world. The world has so much to offer that I want to experience and if I am able to capture it with my camera to share it to everyone would be a dream come true.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most rewarding aspect of being a photographer is seeing the emotions that it brings to other people. When capturing a moment, it is now preserved forever and it creates so many emotions for an audience. That’s a special emotion that not many things can make people feel nowadays, and for me thats what make it so rewarding being a photographer,
