We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexander Gore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexander below.
Alexander, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I have worked on is called “Time Keeps Moving”. It started out as a painting practice. Every day that I felt called, or if I wanted to remember that day- I would paint the phrase “Time Keeps Moving”. Each day I use a different color. I date the back. This painting practice helps me cope with change and time moving. Although I still paint this phrase from time to time- it has inspired other projects. One is a newsletter I try to release every month on the website Substack, which is also titled “Time Keeps Moving”. I write about my own thoughts and experiences with time. I write about love and change. Really, it is way to capture what is going on in my life. Sometimes I dabble in videography. The videos I’ve made so far are videos capturing the beauty of life, the beauty of the now. I then add a voiceover in the background reading poetry that is about time.

Alexander, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Alexander Gore. I consider myself a painter, a writer and creative. I am passionate about mental health, and I think this shines though in my work, as a lot of my work is focused on how I relate to my own mental health. I also am interested in the concept of time and how humans relate to time moving. I make work about this as well. I started painting in 2018 while experiencing psychosis. This unlocked the creativity from within myself.
I think that a lot of creatives fall into making art to please others, to make sales. Although I am happy when my artwork resonates with others, I try to create from the passion within me. I have a story to tell, I have thoughts to share- I have a passion to share with the world. I think this passion comes through in my work when I am able to tap into my creative purpose.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think that for me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to express my way of being, my passion and my own experiences though my art. Sometimes this expression resonates with others, and that is always a really cool experience.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
From my perspective, artists need community and support from others to thrive creativity. Society can support LIVING artists. Living artists need support from their communities. Small artists and businesses need support. To live their passion, and to pursue their mission.
