We recently connected with Alexa Luckey and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Alexa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

Presently, I’m in the beginning stages of creating an album. Over the last several years, my life has radically evolved and transformed in the most beautiful of ways. I am excited to share that story in a cohesive sonic project. Due to the specific changes internally, with relationships, and my connection with the world at large; I believe this album will be one of my most meaningful works yet.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Alexa Luckey. Storyteller through film, music, and dance. I work largely as an actress, music producer, and dancer. As an actress, I’ve trained with David E. Talbert, Curtis King, and studied at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Stanford University. As a music producer, I’ve been able to write and produce original music for artists and television productions. In recent years, I’ve taken a deeper dive into filmmaking, which has been an incredible journey. As a filmmaker, I’ve produced the award winning short film, “Delude.”

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Each artist has a unique perspective on the world. Being able to share mine and use it as an avenue to connect with others is certainly one of the most rewarding aspects of my artistry. I, too believe that the inverse is true. In that the audience, after interacting with a work of art, is positively affected.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Nina Simone embodied artistry and creativity to the fullest extent. She once famously stated, “It’s an artist’s duty to reflect the times in which we live.” One of my primary goals is to create with complete honesty, vulnerability, and speak to the times of present.
