We recently connected with Alex Soska and have shared our conversation below.
Alex, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Over the course of a 15–20-year sales & marketing career, I’ve encountered businesses and individual entrepreneurs of all types. The vast majority of them, regardless of their industry, have shared a similar pain point: digital marketing is complicated. And getting it to actually work, even more so. After spending several years doing business development and account management for a Premier Google Partner search engine marketing agency in Los Angeles, I learned quite a bit about search engine & social media marketing. And the key takeaway for me was that more than anything else, I enjoyed helping people succeed. Whether it was helping someone with their job, helping a frustrated small business owner grow, or helping an entrepreneur bring their vision to life, if I could earn a living helping others ease the frustrations associated with online advertising, that was a win in my book. And with the digital landscape becoming more crucial with each passing year, I decided it was time to tighten my bootstraps, and put my expertise to use in the most efficient way possible; for myself.
After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to launch Array Marketing Solutions, a digital marketing agency out of Boca Raton, FL which specializes in professional search engine and social media marketing services while offering a full suite of supporting online advertising options. From pay-per-click ads and social media advertising, to organic social posts, SEO overhauls, and web design, there’s almost nothing we can’t help our clients with. We combine a thorough technical understanding of how these platforms work, with sales psychology, and creative, clever, polished advertising campaigns, to help businesses of all sizes cut through the digital fog and shine online.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My first digital marketing role was working for Yahoo! Search Marketing back in the early 2000’s. It was an exciting time. Yahoo! was a powerhouse, and being flown out to Sunnyvale, CA for orientation at their headquarters as a young man was a bit intimidating, but I think I did a pretty good job of hiding my nerves. Search engine marketing was relatively new, and it was hot. I spent the next year working in a large call center, selling eager business owners pay-per-click marketing services. It feels like it was the wild west now. They’d usher in dollies worth of adult libations every Friday at 3 P.M. The atmosphere was definitely fun, techy, and progressive, but I eventually left for a more lucrative role. Little did I know at the time, that my experience with Yahoo! would form the cornerstone of my own digital marketing agency, Array Marketing Solutions.
In later roles I would discover that most digital marketing professionals had a decent understanding of how to turn the nuts and bolts of search engine & social media marketing, but boy were they lacking in the creative department. And when the majority of everything that’s floating around in cyberspace is mundane, cookie-cutter, and run of the mill, nothing stands out. The online advertising equivalent of Where’s Waldo. That’s where Array Marketing Solutions comes in. We take that same technical prowess, and pair it with verbiage and imagery that’s cheeky, eye-catching, and out of the box. The combination of these two elements yields a web presence for our customers that helps them really stand out in the digital space.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I think our digital marketing clients can smell our commitment from a mile away. While they appreciate our expertise, what they’re really drawn to is our commitment to their time, and even more importantly, their money. It doesn’t grow on trees. We’re consumers too, ya know. We promise our clients we’ll tend to their online advertising budgets as if they were our own, and they see it in our communication and attention to detail. We’re readily available, respond quickly, and keep our clients in the loop as much as possible. Also, we do everything in-house. Our billing is transparent, our staff is very consultative, and we don’t mind going the extra mile for our clients one bit.

Any advice for managing a team?
Transparency. When they do a good job, we let them know we’re proud of them. And when they blunder, we let them know about that too. It’s a fine line between friend and boss, but we straddle it the best we can, and a lot of our staff understands and appreciates that if they hold up their end of the bargain, so will we. Happier employees make for happier clients. We’re here to help spread joy and a sense of accomplishment anyway we can, both in our communication, as well as our results.
