We were lucky to catch up with Alex Scot recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alex, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
The first time I went viral was a defining moment for sure. Over 6million views & I had a LOT of haters come at me. I had to get way out of my comfort zone & own who I am & what I do on a whole new level, which meant more healing needed to take place within me to expand my capacity for visibility. So I got to work on this within myself & with my support system, & low & behold an interview with DailyMail TV was offered to me!
This was HUGE. It was my first major piece of publication & it was on TV! My heart was overcome with joy & then my trauma started to speak up some more… “who do you think you are? You think you’re worthy of being on Daily Mail?!” So many negative thoughts ran through my mind, and yet again I needed to plug in MORE & heal MORE! I did & the DailyMail interview went so well!
For me this defining moment was truly an insight into my own desire for my business. I can look at my past self in hindsight & know there is a version of me that once existed where the internet bullies would’ve gotten to me so much I would’ve quit & where the DailyMailTV interview would’ve triggered such intense imposter syndrome, I wouldn’t have accepted the offer.
Living this experience really allowed me to level up even more, heal more deeply & step into a higher version of myself.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Alex a trauma informed healing & dating coach who helps women to heal from narcissistic abuse & develop healthy dating skills so that they can take back control of their lives & thrive.
I got to where I am today after being raised in a narcissistically abusive home paired with religious abuse as well. This led me to have a slew of toxic relationships & simply thinking my “picker” was off, but really my unresolved trauma attracted me to unhealthy people & relationship dynamics.
It took me hitting rock bottom after dating a man who confessed he was diagnosed NPD with borderline traits, to look inwards & realize that I was the common denominator of all of my failed relationships so if I wanted my love life to change, I needed to change first.
7 years later after loads of research, education, trial & error, I’m helping women have the same transformation process that I did! It’s so rewarding.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I wanted to grow my business organically using social media, so of course I began posting daily. At first, I had some pretty good luck & then in Dec 2020, all of the sudden my IG growth came to a halt.. My reach went from thousands to literally 53 on a post.
I invested in copy writing programs & content coaches. I hired a social media manager to really help me grow & even that SMM had no idea why my posts weren’t performing well. The copy was good, the graphics were good, but crickets.
Fast forward to September of 2022 I finally had surrendered to it. Focusing on the lack of IG growth was an energy vampire to me & I had major success growing my tiktok account so I just decided to focus on the good & keep keeping on.
On Friday September 30th all of the sudden I hit 10k followers, in the next 48 hours I had another 30k followers… and now November 2022 I have over 100k followers.
Nothing in my content changed, nothing in my copy writing changed, but I changed & that to me was truly the difference.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes! I would only choose it sooner! I love learning about trauma & am completely fascinated by it & how it impacts each human differently. And to be able to walk my clients through the process step by step is so fulfilling.
They go from feeling anxious, angry, sad & lonely to feeling calm, confident, happy & in control of their emotions! There is so much growth that happens so quickly in my containers because of the methods I use that it leaves my clients mind blown!
I’ve only been able to create what I’ve created today because of the trauma I’ve needed to heal (and will always be healing). That paired with my passion for the work makes me excited for every client & for my business to continue growing. So yes! I would choose it all over again & get started earlier!
