We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alex Pardo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alex below.
Alright, Alex thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?
If I were to start over today with my life in business I would do a handful of things. First, I would determine my why. It’s crucial to have a clear idea of why you’re doing what you’re doing in the first place. After determining your why, then you can create a plan of action. Simply writing down a big goal and then breaking it down into smaller goals with individual action steps that will lead you there. For example, “I want to book at least 30 sales calls this month” – in order to do this I’ll need to find my “ideal client” online through social media and send them a message – I can message 40 people a day on Facebook and 40 a day on Instagram. I’ll track my response rates but to make this example simple let’s say 20% of the people respond. Of those who respond only 10% schedule a call – over the course of 30 days I should have sent 2,400 messages, I should get 480 of those people to respond, and should book 48 of those people for a call. This is a simple example of one component of running my business that I didn’t figure out until I gained more knowledge in the space and got better at networking/connecting with others.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I initially started out in the fitness space having my own personal transformation in 2018, I dealt with my own IGF-1 growth deficiency and was able to overcome it through fitness & nutrition. With my burning passion for fitness, I began my fitness Instagram page – sharing my workouts & knowledge with others. Very quickly people began reaching out to me for advice and that’s when I started “Prove Them Wrong Fitness”. Inside of my coaching business I’ve helped hundreds of people kick start their own fitness transformations. Inside of my app they follow along a consistent daily workout routine, meal plan, habit tracking and so much more. Each client is able to connect with me over text at any time and we always have a weekly check-in phone call to see how everyone is performing. Tracking everyone’s stats is crucial for making progress, if you aren’t measuring any metrics it’s much more difficult to have a good transformation. Currently in 2023, I created a new business called “New Money Systems” which is an all-in-one sales and marketing system – providing everything you need to run your business in one spot. Businesses are able to connect their social media accounts to automate posts and manage their social planner, create email & text campaigns using the built-in templates, create automation workflows so parts of your business can operate 24/7 (plus you can integrate AI), build websites, build funnels, process payments / send invoices, write blogs, build digital courses, build communities, easily ask for customer reviews to keep your reputation good, and the list keeps going. What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I have for growing clientele is networking with the right people and building genuine relationships that aren’t just transactional. Focusing on what it is that you’re good at that can provide value to others, reaching out to them and helping solve a problem for free. You need to have some type of “lead generation magnet”. It could simply be a digital resource you’ve created that solves “xyz” problem for your ideal client. Being able to provide them tremendous value for free before you even begin to show them what else you have to offer – they will be very curious of what you have and will trust you much more.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a social media presence is simple but it’s not easy. I first started creating content when I began my fitness journey and was just posting clips I recorded from my iPhone. At this point and time I was still in high school and really had no idea what I was doing. Over the years I started learning more about what you needed to do in order to post higher quality content. Things like: adjusting iPhone camera settings, investing into a 4k mirrorless camera, learning how to edit videos, learning how videos should be exported and uploaded, learning how to create captivating thumbnails to grab attention. After implementing the new skills that I learned, I increased my odds of growing my page – it’s all about optimizing your profile and controlling the factors that you can. We can’t control the Instagram algorithm but we can control the video quality, audio quality, caption, hashtags, hooks, call-to-actions, video lengths, thumbnails, how often we post, etc. For me personally, I showed up consistently for about 6 months straight pumping out volume of content and optimized everything that I could. One day I had a post “go viral” (1.8 Million Views later) – it had traction for a long time and brought in tons of new followers shooting me over the 100k follower mark. With that being said, do what you can and control those factors that I just explained. Luckily for those of you reading this, just direct message me the words “grow” on Instagram and I’ll personally help you put together a plan to grow your page for free.
