Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Michael Torres. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Alex Michael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?

My first paid shoot was a month after I signed with my first agency. They sent me on this casting where they were looking for real life soccer players for a sports beverage campaign. I told my agent that I haven’t played soccer since I was a kid but they told me to just go anyways. I ended up booking it and a week later we shot the campaign.

Alex Michael , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a male model/actor based in Los Angeles. I originally got into this business wanting to be a back up dancer for music artists but after getting representation started getting more and more commercial/print clients and ended up enjoying that more. I soecialize in fashion, commercial lifestyle, and fitness.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I’m the beginning of my career, I was a student in college still deciding what I wanted to do. My heart was saying continue pursuing the entertainment industry while people around me were encouraging me to pick a safer job. For a while I tried to do both, until I realized both were lacking due to me not being 100% to either. I decided to go 100% into the entertainment side and if I failed I failed. Once I fully committed was when I was able to achieve what I wanted.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding thing about being an artist is being to be able to live your passions every day. Wether the day was good or bad, at the end of the day you are doing what you love.
