We recently connected with Alex Luciano and have shared our conversation below.
Alex, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The main Story of a risk I’ve taken is the same story I share with everyone. You have to be Strong and willing to sacrifice a lot for what you want. I’ve sacrificed so much just to persue my career in music. I wouldn’t go back in time and change anything even tho I went thru so much. Distractions, temptations even thoughts of quitting. If you want something, go for it. Even if it scares you. Cause, if it doesn’t scare you, then you might not want it as much.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I first got in to this music world studying the pioneers of the game. I was very young and still had some growing up and molding to do. Still wet behind the ears and so ambitious. I wanted to be the best at what I do but had no money and no equipment to start with. I was hungry and was lucky enough to sit in some sessions and learned a thing or two from producers, composers and creators who were wise beyond their years. They took me under their wing and kept teaching me throughout the years. As I learned how to hone my craft, I always kept my ears and eyes opened. I wanted to perfect my craft and be one of the best producers out there but not really knowing which lane to go down in the future . As I studied multiple versions and genres of music, I was able to gain knowledge on what type of world my music would be of good service to. I love hip hop, reggaeton and a couple of other genres as well but I found that my expertise is in Cinematic music. I remembered watching superhero movies like Batman, Superman etc. and thinking to myself, How do they put that music together for that one incredible scene? I told myself, when I grow up that’s what I want to do. Thanks to amazing composers like, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer etc. I was able to study cinematic music everyday until I was able to create my very first cinematic track. The services that I am able to provide for my clients today makes my job a hell of a lot easier in the sense that I know what they want and what type of track the scene needs. What sets me apart from others, I would say the way I look at things. You pitch me an idea explaining a scene to me and i’m already in the studio (in my head) finding the perfect sounds for the track. What I am most proud of, is the chances I took in life because without those chances my music would have never landed placements on tv. Placements on networks such as national geographic, Disney Plus and Hulu. What I would like for my future clients or anyone to know about me is that I’m not just all business, I have fun spending time in the studio, I will create an amazing track out of feeling not just to make a beat, my heart goes into my work. For anyone who is looking for a music producer/composer, I produce multi genres of music and I can be of service to you. My brand Illmassacremusic is not only a company, it’s the future.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me the most rewarding aspect of it is just being able to sit down in a chair and place my hands on a keyboard and create music. I look at music as a second language, it just comes natural to me. I love it so much that when I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I knew that I would be happy just doing that. There were so many things I wanted to be growing up but music has always stuck with me and it finally gave me a chance to prove myself.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I think that the main thing non creatives struggle with is FEAR. That’s where I had trouble understanding where they were coming from in the past. I was always told, you’re wasting your time, there’s no money in music, that’s only for hollywood wannabe’s etc. I never knew how to respond. Ive been at this music journey of mine for about 20 years now and i’m finally at a good place in my life. Now, a non creative might hear that and say, wow 20 years and now you’re catching a break? but never understanding what it took for me to get here in those 20 years. I used to get upset rom their comments but now I truly understand that not everyone will have the same ambitions, courage, strength and heart that you have. They struggle with success because they are too afraid to take that leap of faith. To look at FEAR dead in the eye and say I HAVE FAITH!!! I was afraid once but I learned how to look at things differently. If I didn’t, I would’ve never gotten my kids out of the hood, bad situations, I would’ve never met my wife, move states or do the main important thing that is expected of us as humans and that’s live life.
