Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Lane. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Alex thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally was in high school when I picked up my first camera. I’ve always been surrounded by the arts — my mom put me in dance at an early age, so I was constantly involved in music and performance. My grandmother bought me my first camera after I decided to quit drumming and explore photography. At 15, I realized I had a passion for capturing the world around me. Photography allowed me to tell stories and express myself visually, which felt like the perfect creative outlet.
DJing came a little later, but music has always been a constant in my life. Growing up, I’d go through my mom’s old CDs, and Miss Thang by Monica was a favorite that I played on repeat. In 2017, my dad sent me money to buy my first DJ board. What started as a hobby turned into a deeper passion.
Alex, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Alex, artistically known as TreHitz. My creative journey has always been shaped by the arts.
As a DJ, I specialize in high-energy sets across genres like house, ghetto tech, jersey club, funk, R&B, and hip-hop. I focus on creating experiences where the music isn’t just heard, it’s felt. My goal is to tap into the emotions of my audience and create a connection where the music becomes a feeling. When I’m behind the decks, I’m not just playing tracks — I’m curating an emotional experience that resonates deeply, whether it’s excitement, nostalgia, or pure joy.
What sets me apart is the authenticity I bring to my work. Everything I do is rooted in my true self. My content reflects my personal passions — music, home decor, storytelling — and creates a space for others to feel inspired and connected. I’m most proud of how my brand has grown organically, merging multiple creative outlets into one cohesive universe.
Ultimately, I want my fans and followers to know that my brand is about creating memorable experiences. It’s about culture, energy, and connection. I want people to walk away feeling inspired, as if they’ve been part of something bigger. I’m here to bring joy, creativity, and authenticity to everyone I connect with.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to create experiences that connect with people on a deeper level and evoke emotions that resonate long after the moment has passed. I aim to build spaces where music, visuals, and storytelling come together to make people feel something real — whether it’s excitement, nostalgia, or a sense of belonging.
A big part of my creative journey is staying true to myself and using my platform to bring authenticity to everything I do. I want to inspire others to embrace their own creativity, whether it’s through music, photography, or any form of artistic expression.
Most importantly, my mission is to BRING BACK THE DANCE FLOORS! There’s something so powerful about a space where people come together, lose themselves in the music, and just let go. I want to recreate that energy — the freedom, the connection, and the joy that comes from dancing and being immersed in music.
Ultimately, my goal is to continue growing as an artist while staying grounded in what truly matters to me — authenticity, self-expression, and creating meaningful connections with others. I want to build a brand that reflects that, where people feel like they’re part of something bigger than just a performance or a piece of content, but a shared experience that touches them emotionally.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was my perfectionism. As a creative, I was always obsessed with getting every detail just right, whether it was in my photography or DJ sets. I wanted everything to be perfect, and that mentality often held me back from truly enjoying the process or taking risks.
DJing, however, taught me to move away from that mindset. In a live setting, mistakes happen — whether it’s a slight mix-up in a track or an unexpected moment in a set. Early on, I was really hard on myself when things didn’t go according to plan. But over time, I learned that it’s okay to make mistakes. In fact, those imperfections often make the experience more authentic and unique.
DJing showed me that the beauty is in the moment, and the energy is what people remember — not whether every transition was flawless. I started embracing those mistakes and seeing them as opportunities to grow and experiment. It’s been freeing, and now I focus more on the vibe, the connection with the crowd, and just enjoying the music. Letting go of the need for perfection has allowed me to be more creative and find greater joy in what I do.
