We were lucky to catch up with Alex Jefferson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alex , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I use to sing a lot as a kid, but when I first heard the album Man On The Moon 1&2 By Kid Cudi it a s Demon Days by the Gorillaz they made me feel something at he time I never felt. Passion and Being seen. My goal was to make music like them to make people like me the way they made me feel, And honestly i fee i accomplished that.

Alex , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As someone who is neurodivergent and didn’t have a good outlet as a child to express myself or understand my emotions growing up was challenging at times because I had a hard time navigating my feelings. Music was something I always had a interest in at a young age but I was more into film and gaming but couldn’t figure out how to become a part of those industries, or even do it as a hobby. When i learned guitar, I quickly found out I had a knack for music and decided that was something I wanted to pursue as a career. I took a lot of time honing my craft and meeting like minded individuals as well as listening to other artists to study as a way to find my own sound. Falling deep into negative emotions and feelings led me to expressing them through the music and I learned a lot of other people connected to me through my music the way other artist did for me growing up. The identity and branding behind “Domingo Black” is acceptance of your negative feelings and emotions to be able to become something great. There are a lot of people hurting emotionally in this world and haven’t accepted that pain forms who you can become and instead of rejecting it accepting can be liberating and freeing from ones self. In my most recent work which is conceptual, there is a area know and “SADMANS PARADISE”. A place where people escape to essentially cope from the world we live in but eventually turns to a place where people learn to accept who they are despite there traumatic dealings with Love, acceptance, abandonment and so on. My mission has been to always make people like myself feel they are not alone in what they face.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I Want people to learn to accept themselves even if it’s something they fee they may not like. Understanding your true self is more free and liberating than trying to be the persona the world wants you to be. Accomplishing this with my music of course.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
They say be yourself, but if you don’t know who you are how can you do that? My advice would be to experience as much things life can offer you and not get sucked into consuming one thing.
