Alex, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Havens Luxury Metals is an American made manufacturer and fabricator of stainless steel and copper products for high end homes. We specialize in custom sinks, range hood and fire features.
Alex, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Alex Havens is the President and Founder of The Havens Collection Inc. Established in 2016, Havens Co. is an advanced retailer and home to a network of online stores known for elite craftsmanship and cutting edge innovation.
Originally established in Orlando Florida, Havens Co. has recently expanded operations to the East Coast of Florida. As of 2022, New Smyrna Beach is home to the headquarters of The Havens Collection Inc. New Smyrna Beach is known for beautiful beaches and incredible waterways, and is home to The Haven.
Alex Havens and The Havens Team handle day to day operations at The Haven in New Smyrna Beach. The Haven is known as the headquarters of Havens Co.’s operations and is established on a 3-1/2 acre compound in the Edgewater Industrial Parktowne business park.
Alex Havens is a visionary with a strong passion for entrepreneurship. Alex began his journey as an entrepreneur at the ago of 12 with his younger brother Davis. They called their first business “Havens Brothers Lawn Service.” After a few hot summers of lawn care, Alex moved into the eCommerce space and became one of the top sellers on eBay selling niche products. After a few years of the eBay hustle, Alex started his first online store designing and selling Jewelry products, known as Savage. The journey continues as Havens Co. is home to a vast network of online stores, investments, and business opportunities.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Havens Luxury Metals has successfully built a strong reputation in the Kitchen & Bath Industry through excellent service and the highest quality products. We have maintained a relationship with past clients and nurture relationships with new clients. Each interaction with a customer is taken seriously and we never have turned away a customer, no matter how small the job is.
Any advice for managing a team?
Managing a team might be one of the hardest aspects of building a business. There are many unpredictable factors with building a team, as you are dealing with people, not just a product. Through the course of interviews and hiring, it is important to find people that are a good fit to your team. Since I have a small team, each new hire is vetted extremely well and multiple interviews are conducted. I have a system in place for hiring, taking into account a Clifton Strengths test and an interview and a phase 2 meet and greet with the rest of the team. If the candidate passes those two tests, then they are hired!
